Seven News Content and Appearance (2020-Feb 2025)

Technically Melbourne had a local v/o in John Deeks, even though he was a network one, doing all the sponsor boards (for each market including 7QLD too) since mid-2008 to mid-2020, classification boards since about 2003 and continuity for years before that, with the company for decades prior too. Used to warm up game shows. Also DonD, Sunrise/WS at times, TMS, special announcements and local productions such as the RCH GFA.

It was sad to see his voice go actually, cost cutting and change in presentation upon COVID, was meant to coincide with the Tokyo Olympics which got delayed a year, also affected that show POO. I believe it was a mutual decision and he left on good terms though, like a retirement. Network female voice (since 2005) Sarah Aubrey was also dropped in favour of the current one. They kept their main dominant voice Matt Wills however, Nine have also kept theirs, both go back more than 20 years.

But the Perth set looks crap for The Latest, which is now a poor imitation of what it was originally.

Interesting tidbit from the TV Tonight newsletter this morning:

Looking into my TVT crystal ball I can see that the outlook for horoscopes in news bulletins is looking very cloudy…

Hope the same can also be said about Humphries

Not a surprise with the way Seven’s news ratings have been performing since the changes.

Well it didn’t go to air in Adelaide tonight - did any other markets get it? Been almost 5 months since it began, so maybe they’ve finally given up on it.

Wasn’t seen on the east coast :crossed_fingers:

An early Christmas gift from 7?

No local morning news in Adelaide today - getting the national edition.

On the bright side, mean’s we get to see Ann Sanders

I’d warrant a bet there will be no local morning news in Adelaide again. It’s been quietly axed.

Maybe Adelaide will get this too. Very early to be in ‘summer mode’ though.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they are doing national for the remainder of the year.

You’ll see it in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth I imagine as well.
