You may be right but I don’t see that in these announcements today.
Seven used to have the best midday movies. That was many years ago now though.
Will Ann Sanders continue as anchor?
Yep. Seven has had the midday movies locked into that time slot for decades. I would say it’s been there since the start of the 90s.
I’m getting the impression they maybe opting for a change.
It was speculated that she could be stepping down at the end of the year. Nothing confirmed.
Who knows, they could go local in all states from Midday?
The same staff producing the 4.00pm hour could be required to produce local midday bulletins.
Just an idea.
Exactly. Not sure where they’re getting the idea that the local bulletins for Perth and Adelaide are in jeopardy.
They might be. Who knows? I just don’t think there should be anything to worry about just yet.
If they were moving to live and local 12PM bulletins, I’m sure it would’ve been in the announcement. That’s a huge step forward if so, but I can’t see it happening.
Either way, it will be interesting to monitor the ratings of these. 11.30 on Nine, 12PM on Seven and 1PM on 10.
They could do local inserts into the bulletin for WA and SA.
12pm: National Headlines
12:10: Local inserts
12:20: National again
Nine will follow suit I’m sure.
huh, you’d think they would’ve bumped up the time while 10 was still doing midday
Depends - is Nine willing to drop their lead in with Today Extra for a 12pm bulletin?
As far as it seems, their 11.30am bulletin goes well doesn’t it?
Why? No one sees 10 News as competition.
Nine and Seven will always follow each other.
100% agree, this will happen.
Nine will follow.
It’s cheap content to help fill / pad out the daytime schedule.
Seven will most likely now have movies and repeated reality shows from 1pm. Nine will most likely do the same.
Alternatively 9 could get a big boost out of this. There is already a big turn off for the last 30 minutes of TMS (and Today Extra). Extending TMS could see a switch to Nine’s Morning bulletin where viewers have come to expect news at 11.30. Then, especially early in the year, MAFS encores would smash midday news.
Seven are going to learn what Ten learnt with their failed midday news. Isn’t ABC News still king at midday? Those viewers aren’t going anywhere while Seven’s midday movie viewers will go to Nine.
This does not bode well for her at all.
why is that?
I’m sure Ann will be fine reading an hour at midday. She reads an hour at 4pm. Not sure why this doesn’t bode well for her? A lot of assumptions today with not much basis.
Assumptions and opinions are literally the basis of most comments on this forum.
Just cause you don’t agree, doesn’t make them less credible.
