Melbourne used to have viewer favourite in the 2000s and 2010s “Coxy’s Big Break” on Saturdays when they didn’t have AFL. They’ve struggled to find a suitable replacement since. Opting now for more and more Border re-runs, which for what it’s worth seem to do the trick.
Melbourne is the odd one out as there is also South Aussie With Cosi and Caravan & Camping WA.
I regularly post the comparison between the Seven lead in in each market and Nine’s offerings like Postcards, My Way and Hello SA.
Similar to TCN9. While GTV, QTQ, NWS and STW have local shows, TCN have RBT.
Might have something to do with AFL (HSV7) and NRL (TCN9)

Triple H and A returns early in the year, and once again a lot of TBAs in the provided schedule, completed with best guesses.
Plus repeats of Red Faces & Mrs Brown’s Boys and double episodes of a new American series remake starting at 9.15pm. That’s the best they can do these days to launch a new year?
Looks like the Bathurst 12hr will be doing some channel switching this year, As the race starts at 5:45am and finishes at 5:45pm, I assume the start and finish will be on 7Mate, with just the 12pm-5pm portion on 7. Last year, the whole race was on 7Mate (in Melbourne at least) so channel swapping wasn’t needed
Yes the race starts at 5:30 am AEDT on 7Mate then resumes on the channel at 5:00 pm AEDT until 6pm.
Commences Monday 6 February 9:15 pm.
Maternity confirmed from Sunday 8:45pm.
Seven is showing double episodes of Quantum Leap this week and next week to begin the series. Is Seven planning to fasttrack new episodes later in the season?
(Episode 11 will be shown in the US today - tomorrow afternoon Australian time)
Australian Idol encores will take the 12 midday slot for the next couple of weeks Monday to Thursday.
This Friday’s schedule will include three encores of Idol.

Yawn!
So we have Idol 3 times this week? Original versions, daytime midday version, and now the triple header on Friday.
Talk about overload.
Desperation
It happens with every show. Lack of content.
I decided not to record the first week of Australian Idol on my PVR because I knew there would be encores later this week, on one of Seven’s channels.
I will definitely tune in for episode 1 this Friday, and watch episode 2 and 3 on 7plus this weekend (unless Seven schedules more repeats on 7flix).
Seven do this consistently for the first week of their reality franchises; they must think it is worth sacrificing one Friday night for the potential to catch a few more viewers. I can’t imaging there will be too many that stay watching past midnight though.
If you didn’t watch it before what makes them think you’re going to watch it I wonder.
