Seven Network - Programs and Schedules

But what can Seven try now? All of the popular reality franchises as I said are on other networks. Love Island on Nine, DWTS is now on 10, Survivor on 10, Ninja on Nine, Takeaway on 10, I’m a Celebrity on 10, Bachelor/rette/Paradise on 10. There’s nothing popular that they can grab.

Meanwhile, they axed X Factor, Got Talent and Amazing Race because those genres are ‘dead’ (and replaced them with inferiors such as All Together Now, Dance Boss, Zumbo, Hell’s Kitchen, Restaurant Revolution, Little Big Shots, none of which have ‘fired’) but had Seven given them a bigger budget and a bit more life they would’ve fired.

Sometimes I just wish that Seven is reading this forum so they know what is wrong with them.

Well if you want to go down reality shows there might be a limited amount. But I would like to see a network try something obscure. Seven have had luck launching drama in the past. Why not a soap at 7:30. A reboot of McLleods Daughter.

If Seven want to take risks why not Love and Hip Hop, Project Runway, The Apprentice, The Amazing Race, The Farm (something a little different and similar to Big Brother), The Surreal Life.

Same here. They could always try only airing reality on one night a week and making the other nights factuals, dramas, sitcom/comedy, variety etc.

Without delving too far into mock schedules, here’s a basic schedule for after MKR/HR at 7:30:

Sunday: Reality (Little Big Shots, All Together Now, Instant Hotel, The Amazing Race)
Monday: Women oriented Drama (800 Words, Secret Daughter-esque, obviously something like Between the Two Worlds would fit in perfectly)
Tuesday: Male oriented Drama (Something like Underbelly or a male version of Wanted)
Wednesdays: Sitcom/Comedy/Variety (Orange is the New Brown, Big Music Quiz)
Thursdays: Game Show (The Weakest Link or an adult version of It’s Academic)/Factuals (Border Security, Beach Cops, Force)

Obviously just a possible way to spread some variety across their schedule, but we all know they won’t do it.

Why don’t they just create a knockoff of it that is vaguely similar, it’s worked for Seven countless times before :nail_care:

Didn’t they try that with spartan? It failed.

Just to follow up - that is also the mid season final for The Resident.
It is obvious that the Criminal Minds episodes are repeats as they are season 12 instead of 14, but as you normally only post episode numbers for new episodes, I thought I would point out that these are repeats

It should be labelled as final episode for 2018 or midseason final.

Non-ratings period, yes? Probably returning the Sunday Night Movie?

Seven use the same labelling every year. Next year there will no doubt be a “season premiere” when it returns.

I would agree with the fact that is how Seven publish. However, it is up to you if you wish to change it. I call these mid season finales. They put nothing in their guide about The Resident, however if you look at the American guides, the next episode is airing in mid January so this is also a mid season finale.

God Friended Me- I am actually enjoying it . The name sounds sort of bad but the storylines so far have been alright.

I nearly fell asleep watching the premiere and couldn’t get to the end.

Eight episodes of Home and Away in one week is damaging and will not help the show long term.

Why must Melbourne get the NSW Schools Spectacular (after the local one) but NSW don’t get the Victorian one? Is the Victorian one less quality or smaller? Or maybe the tv contract says the NSW must go national?

Or less interesting to NSW?

Sure, fine. So why do Melbourne have to get the NSW one again? Just curious.

Because Victorians are a lot more interested in what NSW do?

In case of the cricket running past 6pm as is often the case, it will be interesting to see whether Seven cross to 6pm News for Sydney/Melbourne and move the cricket to 7mate, or stick with the cricket and delay the news.
