Seven Cricket Coverage

7’s summer or cricket is done for 2024/25 & I believe they commentated every match from September to February from the ground

Props to them really. Don’t broadcast all the games like Fox do but actually made the effort to be at every game where as Fox did many studio broadcasts

Fox had fun with the speech. 1 commentator ‘gave a clip on the way’ immediately after the presentation & beginning of their interview with Healy Barnard said ‘we would never bump you to another channel’ & Healey said ‘sorry channel 7’ & they all laughed

The funny thing is that Fox would of also had SL v Aus as their main channel Fox Cricket & WAshes would of been on another Fox Sports channel

Pretty sure they called the Perth leg of the BBL Boxing Day + first day of the Sydney test doubleheaders from a Melbourne studio. However, think that might have been the only times they did that.

Really? Then did a better job than Fox at hiding it because I don’t remember them calling that game from a studio

Is Healy still a Fox Cricket ambassador?

She is hired by Fox.

On the first night of the tests in Sri Lanka, seven had Punter with the other two, what happened to him since that first night?

It was always suggested he was only going to do Day 1 - I know he has fingers in a lot of pies so assume his schedule was already full after that, especially given he wouldn’t have reasonably expected to be required for an overseas series.

Just tuned in about 10 mins or so ago, Copeland and Blewett seem to be commentating from the studio. Is there an issue at the ground?

I think Copeland and Blewett did the commentary in anticipation of Alex Carey’s century (which he achieved).

Seven getting great ratings for the overseas test but just not enough competition with another Day 4 finish coming up and early in the day as well.

Viewers might get to see the paltry 70-odd target chased down within this main channel hour.
