Fox makes sense because they can show all the games that are live streamed via Kayo. And can have just 1 game part of the freebies. Would be cost effective if they just get AFL/VFL to do everything like they already do

Up until last season, Seven broadcast the VFL Match of the Round on Sunday afternoons, airing after AFL GameDay/TMS Weekend/Footy Feast and before Seven’s Sunday AFL fixture. From the 2025 regular season, this coverage shifted to a Saturday night timeslot on 7mate . During the finals series, Seven expanded its coverage to broadcast two VFL matches per weekend.

Channel 7 is set to launch its commentary line-up on Tuesday, February 17.

I’m going to assume very minimal change. Probably can’t event announce Tom Morris joining. But I expect status quo. Maybe Bennett being a permanent commentator for maybe Sunday afternoon football given 7 has 4 main callers for 6 play by play roles during a typical round of footy

also it’s crazy that 9’s contract restrictions mean that Tom can’t even talk about anything related to AFL with SEN who he worked for along with 9 last year.

Seven tried to kill off The Footy Show for so many years and failed so many times, yet they completely ignore The Front Bar instead choosing some kind of Footy Show–lite format that looks and sounds like something a certain rival would produce and screen when the AFL community ‘gather’ in Adelaide.
