It’s not but for NRL folks it seems like since NZ pays money in the broadcast deal, NZ figures must be included to get the correct viewership numbers - something like that.
Most replies or retweets with AFL GF ratings numbers or even Finals series numbers on Twitter has stuff like “when NZ is added, NRL wins big” etc 
They’re usually over egging the NZ numbers too…and this is from a NZer myself.
That is 100% true. It seems like they think that 500k-1mill watch the NRL in NZ when there is actually no concrete ratings.
I think the 2025 NRL GF averaged 180k in NZ & I saw people saying that there will be at least 1mill watching tonight

Does anyone know if this was fixed for the 2nd match?
According to tv tonight confirmed by OzTAM , the pre game entertainment for AFL was the entire 12pm to 2:05pm segment. The 2:05 to 2:30pm got 3.27mill. So the actual entertainment was probably more than 1.87mill.
I wonder if 7 (who should have the actual numbers?) or AFL might reveal the actual pre game entertainment numbers given NRL has been claiming to have out-rated the expensive AFL entertainment
