SEN (Radio)

And in Brisbane, as SEN don’t have a commercial licence, no DAB+ for them or the current user of the HPON, Vision.

Vision are relegated to 1620 from a less than ideal TX setup atop a commercial nursery roof just west of Capalaba and with the four site tie up of 1620 in the region, unable to move even a few kilometres to their current 1053 site at Tingalpa, the now BAI owned, ex 4BK site.

Tall Poppy Syndrome much? Hutchy is just having a crack. Crocmedia has been operating for 14 years. He’s hardly failing with his ventures.

Maybe you should refrain from name calling? I don’t consider the owner of Crocmedia a “tall poppy” as you term it, just a little egotistical ex-journalist! I don’t like what he’s done since he’s taken over SEN, that’s all. Was my go to station since it took over from 3AK in 2004, not any more. Now there’s more ads than content plus most of his SEN presenters suffer from the same egotistical behaviour these days.
If you believe he’s “having a go”, it’s not a very successful go as far as SEN goes. Have you checked their ratings recently?

IMO SEN just need to be careful with regards to their success in other states excl. Melbourne.

Melbourne is a different kettle of fish. SEN has definitely been a success in Melbourne but I’m not sure if that can/will be replicated nationally. Especially judging by the comments so far on the SEN Spirit and 2CH Facebook pages regarding the changes.

If I were SEN, I’d focus on dominating Melbourne and then focus on dominating the rest of Victoria and parts of regional SA where the sporting focus is big and consistent with the SEN brand.

Looking at SEN Spirit’s website, I found a handy link:

Entire live sport list across all their stations in a PDF format rather than that unwieldy spreadsheet.

Former Origin & Kangaroos player, Bryan ‘Fletch’ Fletcher, has joined SEN to present drive on its upcoming Sydney station at 3-6pm weekdays. He’ll be joined by Joel Caine, who currently does breakfast with Jimmy Smith on SENTrack in NSW.

Not sure what time SEN Spirit began, but it was heard at 6.57am WA time with ID as ‘SEN Spirit 621 Bunbury’.

Jimmy Smith has been appointed Nights host at SEN Sydney.

Perhaps the most important phrase in that article:

You’d think we’ll know the launch (or switchover from 2CH) date at the same time as an announcement of presenters for the new SEN 1170 breakfast show?

They’ve already announced Andrew Voss as breakfast host of SEN 1170 and SEN track

Can anyone in Sydney get clear reception of Sen Track 1539? I listened in the car driving home but it sounded like listening to a station 300km away.

Yeah around Pennant Hills it is pretty crap maybe like Central coast. My old nono had good reception at Strathfield. I am Carlingford tonight it’s a bit better here.

Only operating on 1kW. Is it an LPON licence?
Reception weak even in Ashfield!

Ditto in Blacktown!

AM in metro areas is basically unlistenable especially at that low power.

I wonder if they could increase it. That HPON in theory should cover Sydney?

What’s 1593 in Melbourne? Is it also only 1kw?

Got an SMS from vision yesterday stating that 1053 in brisbane will be off air from this weekend and to switch to 1620. i expect SEN on air sometime very soon

According to an earlier post Melbourne is on 5kW - so reception should be better there!
