It makes sense considering SBS has adopted the 10/Channel 4 approach of pushing the master brand rather than individual channels when promoting shows.
In credit to 10… at least drama and comedy have some semblance of personality in their multis and their own colouring. This is just bland
The new SBS 2 logo reminds me more of a timeshift channel than a multichannel. ![]()
ABC dropped that because viewers were confused about it and the main channel, which a lot of people still refer to as “channel 2”. We don’t have to ape everything the BBC does.
Sure, but that connotation isn’t an issue here - unless we eventually get an SBS28, I suppose.
timeshift channel. like what 10 are doing
Are some of us going to actually tune into SBS2 if it had a better logo?
I wonder if 8 Out of 10 Countdowns (repeats) will continue at the 7.30pm slot. Its been a fixture of the channel for ages.
On a sidenote, good to see Cup Fever doing well on Viceland at 8.30pm during the World Cup.
I’d definitely tune in if they brought back or introduced more international versions of popular reality shows. The Greek version of Come Dine with Me was absolutely hilarious.
i never missed that! They should bring that back, for sure !
On the old SBS 2, I used to like watching Japanese game shows like Ninja Warrior and Vs Arashi as well as the Chinese show If You Are the One and SBS PopAsia that played Asian pop music videos. ![]()
It’s still in production so they could buy more seasons.
On the old SBS2, The Feed was legendary, but on the new SBS2 from 21 August, will the show be back once the channel’s rebranded?
They’re reviving the channel name not every past show.
Bit boring. In other news I wish they’d do a modern version of their old logo. So iconic. AI slop example
They really slapped bold on the 2 and called it a day, huh
Not sure if it’s me but the Viceland watermark looks smaller tonight?
No change that I can see during normal programming , however if you are only used to watchin Cup Fever it will look smaller because during that show it runs bigger for some reason.
Tonight
Yesterday
Cup Fever
Shows SBS2 needs to bring back
- Mystery Diners
- Iron Chef
