Undressed Italy

Premieres Monday 1 October at 10.50pm on SBS VICELAND (40 Parts)

This hands-on social experiment format sees two complete strangers meeting for the very first time, and undressing each other in a darkened bedroom. With just 30 minutes to get to know each other, there’s no time to lose. Based on a series of scientific tests that looked at accelerating the process of falling in love through heightened intimacy, and bodily contact, Undressed Italy puts the theory into practice.

Hollywood Love Story

Premieres Friday 12 October at 11.30pm on SBS VICELAND (8 Parts)

Paris Hilton explores the nebulous world between fantasy and reality that is social media, through a series of cautionary tales about the lives of young people trying to make it in modern-day Los Angeles.

The Problem With Apu

Premieres Tuesday 16 October at 9.35pm on SBS VICELAND

In this comedic documentary, The Problem with Apu, South Asian-American comedian Hari Kondabolu confronts his long-standing ‘nemesis’ - Apu Nahasapeemapetilon - better known as the Indian convenience store owner on The Simpsons.

Kondabolu discusses how this controversial caricature was created, burrowed its way into the hearts and minds of Americans, and continues to exist - intact - nearly three decades later.

Tom Arnold’s Hunt for the Trump Tapes has revealed nothing so far, with the only controversy being a stoush with Mark Burnett and Roma Downey. The series has been a con.

You’re The Worst

Premieres Monday 5 November at 10.00pm on SBS VICELAND

You’re the Worst isn’t a typical romantic comedy. The critically-acclaimed series follows narcissistic and stubborn Jimmy Shive-Overly (Chris Geere), who inadvertently finds himself hooking up with cynical, people-pleasing, and self-destructive Gretchen Cutler (Aya Cash), at a mutual friend’s wedding.

Despite Jimmy and Gretchen’s shared cynicism about love, they both grow closer and become more involved romantically, though their cynicism often gets in the way. Jimmy and Gretchen navigate fear, heartbreak, ardour, and other feelings, and their situation seems to establish that non-traditionalists sometimes make great partners - but not forever.

Yay! I had given up on seeing the rest of this series.

I believe the first 4 seasons will be available On Demand straight up, so you can binge it all if you wish.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine - Season 6

From Friday 11 January at 8.30pm on SBS VICELAND

After its shock cancellation in May, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is back by popular demand following fan outcry. SBS VICELAND are exclusively airing Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6, fast-tracked from the US.

Jake Perolta (Andy Samberg) is a such a good cop that he’s never had to work hard enough to follow the rules too closely. However, there’s a feeling of change in the bullpen, but that won’t stop recently married Jake Peralta and the detectives of the Nine-Nine from taking on New York’s criminal underbelly once again under the stern guidance of Captain Ray Holt - or is it soon to be ‘Commissioner Holt’?

In preparation for the new season you can catch-up with the latest from the Nine-Nine squad with a season 5 marathon, showing episodes 10 to 22 starting at 5pm on January 6 on SBS VICELAND.

SBS should be doing what 10 All Access is doing and directing viewers to competing services. eg. “You can catch-up with the latest from the Nine-Nine squad by watching all five seasons on Netflix”.

You’re The Worst - Season 5

From Monday 14 January at 11.00pm

You’re the Worst isn’t a typical romantic comedy. The critically-acclaimed series follows narcissistic and stubborn Jimmy Shive-Overly (Chris Geere), who inadvertently finds himself hooking up with cynical, people-pleasing, and self-destructive Gretchen Cutler (Aya Cash), at a mutual friend’s wedding. Despite their shared cynicism about love, both grow closer and become more involved romantically, though their cynicism often gets in the way.

YOU’RE THE WORST is a modern look at love and happiness told through the eyes of two people who haven’t been very successful with either. It’s the story of Gretchen and Jimmy, fear, heartbreak, romance, sex, food, Los Angeles, Sunday Funday, friendship, and the fact that sometimes the worst people make the best partners. An original comedy from writer and executive producer Stephen Falk, YOU’RE THE WORST puts a dark twist on the romantic comedy genre.

Narcissistic, brash, and stubborn Jimmy Shive-Overly (Chris Geere) has inadvertently found himself paired up with cynical, people-pleasing, and self-destructive Gretchen Cutler (Aya Cash). After a whirlwind courtship, and a very rough post-cohabitation period of dealing with Gretchen’s clinical depression, Jimmy and Gretchen were forced to learn how to manage a relationship in the face of tragedy when Jimmy’s father unexpectedly died. Ultimately drawn closer, Jimmy proposed and then suddenly disappeared when confronted with the notion that Gretchen would be his family. After a prolonged period of separation, Jimmy and Gretchen are in it for the long haul now… at least they think they are. Maybe.

Rounding out the cast is Desmin Borges, who plays Edgar Quintero, Jimmy’s once homeless war veteran roommate who, having recently learned to manage his PTSD, is now firmly entrenched in the world of television comedy writing; and Kether Donohue as Lindsay Jillian, Gretchen’s best friend and former partner in crime who, after conquering the corporate world, finds herself yearning for love again.

You’re The Worst will also be fast-tracked to On Demand the minute the broadcast finishes in the US on Thursday the 10 January before hitting VICELAND on the Monday.
