The place to watch a world of sport is on SBS On Demand, the online hub to find all the catch-up replays and highlights from the biggest events.

The new year kicks off with the Dakar Rally, to be held in Saudi Arabia from 3-18 January, with extended highlights broadcast daily on both SBS and SBS On Demand from 4 January, as Australian Daniel Sanders defends his motorcycle title.

Returning to Australia, SBS will broadcast the Westbridge Funds AusCycling Road National Championships from Perth, 9-11 January, showing the Elite and U23 Men’s and Women’s Road Races live across SBS/SBS VICELAND and SBS On Demand.

This is the first time Perth will host a SailGP race, under a new 3-year contract announced in April this year. It will open the 2026 season, with Sydney hosting round 3 on February 28 and March 1, also on SBS.

This is just a vibe :joy: Nothing says Kooyong more than this image! Wonder if they were a tad sloshed before going on air?

In all seriousness though, enjoying the legendary voice of Allan Stone (one of the Seven OGs going back to the 70s and had been working for AO’s world feed). Also Pat Cash, Paul McNamee and another former Seven tennis figure Kerryn Pratt (who went back to ATN7 in the 80s with a stint at Nine but quietly disappeared from Seven’s coverage after about 2013 and then fell out with TA).

Good on SBS for actually having the rights, I doubt the ABC would’ve tried and I do quite like the vibe of the desks.

It certainly doesn’t look too amateurish but shows that such productions can be also done on a budget and not look like something out of a Facebook Live

SBS still has rights until 2028. The new season starts tomorrow afternoon.
