A gripping new drama following an urgent response police officer at rock bottom as he searches for redemption in the darkest of places.

Inspired by the real life experiences of former police officer and writer Tony Schumacher, The Responder gives
us a rare glimpse into the heart of our societies’ dark and gritty underbelly, as we follow an officer whose own life hangs in the balance tries to save himself by saving others. In one of the most deprived areas of the UK, Chris (Martin Freeman) drives a front line response vehicle. Night after night, he faces crime, violence and addiction on the streets he patrols, while also battling against personal demons that trouble his work life, his marriage and his mental health. This episode will now be shown next week. That also means the new season premiere of Great British Railway Journeys has been postponed.
In place tonight is the repeat of the 2010 episode of Who Do You Think You Are? with former Australian wicketkeeper Rod Marsh, who died last Friday.

This is a 4-part series which debuted on Channel 4’s on-demand service More4 in October 2021. It sees four celebrities, including actor Martin Clunes, spending time with acclaimed wildlife cameraman and presenter Hamza Yassin.

Is there any news on what SBS will be programming on its main channel in the mornings?

From my understanding all foreign news bulletins are moving to the news channel.

Tokyo Vice debuts on HBO Max on April 7, but SBS has not yet scheduled an Australian premiere date.

I just noticed in the latest issue of TV Week that there is a “final” appearing next to Jeopardy for next Friday (the 8th of April). For both the SBS version at 5.05pm and the repeat on SBS Viceland version at 7.05pm.

Ive been watching the 7pm-ish version each night for a while now, so it will be a shame if it goes off air. It’s a great show. Any ideas on why Jeopardy is leaving SBS? Or just a mistake from the mag?

It is the final episode of season 35. Season 36 starts the following week.

Norfolk Island with Ray Martin

Part of Chasing The Light with Ray Martin series.

Sunday 17 April 7:30 PM

Norfolk Island with Ray Martin is a visual feast, rich in land and sea cinematography and photography by some of the best in the business, while at the same time telling the unique, exotic and often surprising story of one of Australia’s great treasures: Norfolk Island.

World famous landscape photographer Ken Duncan chases the light in an odyssey to get the perfect shot on the spectacular island gifted by Queen Victoria to the Pitcairn Islanders, mutineers from the Bounty, their Tahitian wives and their families and descendants.

Ken, the master, has his sidekick and protégé Ray Martin along with him and they link up with local photographer and underwater specialist Zach Sanders. Capturing their chase is one of Australia’s most awarded cinematographers Andy Taylor. Andy turns his own lens on the lensmen and Norfolk’s unforgettable scenery, characters, culture, and customs. We’re there for Bounty Day, a celebration like nothing on mainland Australia featuring Tahitian dancing handed down through generations. Few know that Norfolk has its own language, its endemic flowers and birdlife attract nature lovers from all over the planet and its cuisine is laden with home-grown produce and fruit of the sea.

The film captures the essence of an island nirvana in breath-taking imagery.
