A stay-at-home Saturday without any sport saw Nine win the night from Seven with an increased share. ABC posted the biggest improvement week-on-week. Nine won in Melbourne and Sydney with Seven ahead in the other three markets.

ABC’s Doc Martin and Agatha Raisin were primetime’s only entertainment shows in a top 10 dominated by news and current affairs. Nine’s bulletin followed by A Current Affair had the edge on Seven’s offering with Sunrise also making the top 10.

Doc Martin added 150,000 viewers from last week. Amazing. Agatha Raisin also had a small increase.

Triple episodes of Bondi Rescue didn’t rate well for Ten. Not the best show to be airing in the current environment…

Despite the low total people share and ABC’s big audiences across the night, 10 still beat the public broadcaster in the three key advertising demos. One of the Bondi Rescue episodes made it into the top 20 in 25-54 for 10 while Agatha Raisin, a top 10 total people performer was just 42nd in 25-54 showing the audience that is watching FTA on Saturday nights. It was outrated by 3 episodes of Friends.

SBS and Ten tie. Surely 10 could be a little smarter and creative with their programming at a time when people are staying in?!

Seven and Nine did well with their News Specials at 7pm and at 10.10pm.

Both Weekend Sunrise and Today are both up too.

Good numbers for Ten’s News at 5pm. Ten could have extended their news (or code it separately as “News Special”) into primetime. Bondi Rescue in these circumstances were the wrong shows and didn’t rate at all.

today in melbourne did alot better with brett being there then they did in the past

It’s 10… they move like :snail: pace on implementing these things.

Oh, 10.

10 should’ve been putting some high quality movies on instead of some reality bullshit they insist on airing there.

Special edition of the project would’ve been a good idea. Anything other than what they’ve got there currently.

9 did well overall with Gem as well.

Wow, must be some record for news on a Saturday!

ABC News over 1m for one of its best nights and Nine News have a rare win. Seven News suffers on Saturday with no good lead-ins and outs particularly without the AFL.

“Thor” umpteenth repeat rated well for Seven at 8pm on a Saturday, also making the Top 5 key demos,

Massive ratings for Nine News Melbourne for a Saturday and GTV-9’s programs dominated all night, unusually looked Seven’s worst market?

Multi-channels looked popular again with shows and movies for everyone at home to forget about Coronavirus, with 9Gem’s double “Johnny English Reborn” and non-EON Bond “Never Say Never Again” leading that pack.

Give people the project on Saturday’s. This is the perfect time to introduce it.

It was the final episode of the season, possibly the last episode ever. ITV has yet to give any indication if there will be another series.

Cue someone who says 10 should do ‘alternative programming’ on Saturday nights.

I said it last week, there are so many more people at home on Friday and Saturday nights at the moment, it’s clear numbers are up across the board. Seven and Nine have instantly reacted on this with no hesitation.

But 10 is still in cruise control mode and running business as usual. As I said last week, 10 need to invest in a Saturday edition of The Project and extend the news to 6.30am to align with the weekday schedule. Yes, I understand this requires more staff, so get hiring now!!

5.00pm 10 News First
6.00pm 10 News First
6.30pm The Project (Saturday Edition)
7.30pm Saturday Night Movie
9.30pm 10 News First Update
9.35pm Saturday Late night Movie

And they’re not even up against any sport. Bloody do something 10.

10 don’t air any movies anymore, haven’t for a month or two

I know… so do it now. They even have more content coming through from the new CBS/Viocom deal.

It’s noticeable as Seven and Nine’s network schedules are filled with movies on weekends and multi-channels nearly every other night.

It’s fine McGarvey wanted to be a point of difference a few years back and try other alternatives on weekends, but their content is rubbish and nobody wants to watch it on weekends now.

Only big success stories are 10 Peach and especially 10 Bold.

There’s plenty of people looking for work. Capitalise now. Within reason of course. Something more manageable to increase news content given the downturn in other areas.
