Wow. Michael Usher absolutely destroyed Georgie Gardner. That is a horrendous gap. Nine should be worried a trend isn’t starting.

MUSIC FROM THE HOME FRONT helped give Nine a very easy victory - the highest Saturday share of this survey. 10 had its lowest Saturday share of 2020.

Huge result for Sunrise as well.

And for everyone wanting to say “I told you so” 10’s second highest rating show (after 10 News 5pm) was 10 News 6pm. It rated 100k higher than Takeaway Reheated the previous week (though it was just 30 minutes). It ranked 26th in total people and 14th in 25-54.

Worth noting that even with 10’s abysmal total people share, the network still ranked ahead of ABC in the demos.

looks like sydney is still sunrise’s number 1 metro viewers

Pretty good numbers for the Music from the Home Front over on Nine. Doctor Doctor’s numbers are good (in its preliminary numbers. Obviously an overrun from the concert)

Great numbers for ABC’s Dawn Services (5.30-7am AEST), with the Commemorative Service at 5.30am, Melbourne Dawn Service (at 6.10am) and Adelaide’s Service (at 6.30am).

Sunrise numbers are high too. Is the “Early” segment for still the 7-8am slot? Or includes the earlier time start. I wonder how Studio 10’s ANZAC Day show rated?

Big ratings for Music from the Home Front. Kudos to Michael Gudinski and Jimmy Barnes for organising this event with a short notice.

Probably one of the highest rated Weekend Sunrise in recent times?

The Dawn Special ranked 21st. Weekend Today ranked 22nd.

Studio 10 had just one entry across its broadcast making comparisons difficult. It rated 15-20k lower than its usual weekday audience and was not competitive.

Second this year behind 29 March that had 403,000.

Thanks for the responses (and putting up the ratings on the weekend).

Seven’s Dawn Special did well in 21st. Weekend Today did well in 22nd place too (numbers seemed to be up, which is good).

Fair enough with Studio 10’s numbers and its one entry across its broadcast. Yes, it may have rated lower, but was also in an earlier timeslot than usual too. So yes, is hard to compare.

Hopefully when Takeaway Reheated finishes they don’t ever revisit the idea of that show again on a Saturday night.

Yes - a trend has developed where Studio 10 is getting its best numbers the later the show goes each morning! So an early start and early finish meant it could only be compared to Sunrise etc.

BTW Today was just ahead of News Breakfast.

Apparently it was on last night - at 6.30pm? - it lost 120k from the 10 News 6pm lead in.

Rare win for Seven News in Sydney.

With results like that one, imagine the impact Michael Usher (the presenter who won them their only week of last year’s ratings season) would have on the ratings of Seven News Sydney if he was their Sunday-Thursday presenter instead of Mark Ferguson.

And it seems Katrina Blowers has been winning convincingly of late in Brisbane too… as it should be… that Jonathon Upton (?) is very average.

Because of ANZAC or the fact that Sydney has tuned in to Seven and slowly paid more attention to their content. Also the fact that more people are staying at home could see a sudden change in viewers.

Based on past results, I’m still not 100% sure Fergo is the problem. Don’t think general viewers have any problem with him, just most of MediaSpy. FYI, some viewers tune in Because of Fergo. But I do want 7 to trial Usher on some kind of basis and see if they improve.

I thought it was already that way? And of course who in QLD wants to turn to ACA content at 6? There’s an obvious choice for QLDers.

Home Front rated well for a Saturday night, with it only being announced during the week and on Anzac Day public holiday, also considering it was performed from lounge rooms and hosted from a TV studio.

Thought Seven would do worse with the competition from Nine and ABC, but it was ABC’s share that was down too while a Disney Marvel movie re-run rated alright, held in Sydney and Melbourne from The Latest, but it was The Latest that saw the audience collapse from 6-7pm, not sure viewers are craving these news specials anymore, especially with coronavirus seemingly winding down and on a weekend?

10, why do we even bother, no surprise at all, main channel beaten by 9Gem! :scream:

I’m going for the latter. The networks probably have viewers at the moment who up until now (or recently) haven’t regularly watched terrestrial TV in a decade.

By the way, I also have issues with the content of Seven News Sydney. On Monday night, one of the stories they thought was apparently worthy of inclusion in the Opening Headlines was about affordable seafood at supermarkets!

Maybe you could try 10 News First?

That’s a story for Easter, or Christmas if that tabloid content was really needed. It’s really unnecessary right now so I understand what you mean. I have been watching improvements in some areas though. I believe Melbourne doesn’t know how to prioritise stories though…

I don’t watch FTA on Saturday’s but that just annoys me that they put a best of rerun of a very low rating show first time round.
Must be free for them to air it again or something.
