Naomi Osaka’s AO Women’s final win dominated Saturday night primetime with an audience of 851,000 metro viewers. That helped Nine to a healthy 36% network share with significant contributions from 9Go! And 9Gem programming as well.

Nine’s share was even with the previous Saturday with Seven and ABC down while 10 and SBS improved week-on-week. Nine had a +40% share in Melbourne and won all other markets except Perth that was won by Seven.

Nine’s demo share was over 40% in 25-54 and approaching 50% in 16-39%. Seven ranked second and 10 third in these key demos.

The audience for the tennis compared to 890,000 for the 2020 Women’s final, that was the first to rate below 1 million in recent times.

ABC’s Death in Paradise and Call The Midwife were the top entertainment offerings while the Holey Moley special episode had just 224,000. Three Blue Ducks on 10, was even with the previous week, 27th overall.

Weekend Sunrise and Weekend Today both made the top 20 with Weekend Sunrise 87,000 ahead and winning all markets. News Breakfast was approx. 5,000 further back. Weekend Today was third in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

The Rugby League All Stars had 129,000 on 9Gem.

The women’s singles final was down from last year by 41k, but it still helped Nine win the night. Australian Open also topped the demographics.
Nine made the right decision to shunt the Rugby league all stars match from 9 To GEM in the northern states.
Holey Moley road to glory failed to fire ratings where it ranked 3rd in its timeslot. It was even beaten by 10 News First.

Nine did well, with the Australian Open Women’s Final. They’d be happy with the numbers. And glad it was coded simply: Match; Pre-match; Presentation. Nice and simple.

Seven’s Holey Moley flopped, as expected, while ABC’s dramas did well against Nine.

Ten: Everything in primetime under 170k. Ouch.

Weekend Sunrise made 3 appearances, with Nine’s Weekend Today making 2 appearances. Cool.

I don’t think that’s correct, aussies Sam Stosur and Matt Ebden were in the Mixed Doubles Final last night, pretty sure one of their opponents is called “Ram” too. Nine must’ve got muddled?

SBS World News made the top 20, which is a rare sight.

Remembering that SBS now split code their news into two 30 minute segments; that entry being the 6.30 pm portion; the 7 pm portion was in 24th spot.

Starting to be a common sight now though

They’re 1/4 correct. Krejcikova was partnered by Rajeev Ram. Recycling last year’s release? Makes you wonder what else is wrong.
