Very close between three networks with Nine and ABC tied for a win. ABC easily had the top rated main channel while Nine had the two top rated multichannels. It was a different result in the key demos though with Nine ranked first and ABC ranked fourth behind 10.

ABC dramas along with news and current affairs dominated the top programs again. Seven’s movie was the next best prime time entry along with factuals on 10. Nine’s Doctor, Doctor repeats ranked between 40th place for the first to below 200th for the sixth.

And in a shock result (NOT) 10’s Takeaway Reheated was in 50th place approx. 45,000 less than Bondi Rescue repeats usually manage. The show’s best demo result was 22nd place in 16-39.

Super strong multichannel figures for Nine gave it an equal network win against ABC.

First time 10 News First has been in the top 10 on a Saturday?

I reckon ACA will stay there permanently after the crisis. It’s doing well.

Same thing last 3 weeks.

Seriously 10. Please extend the news to 6.30 on Saturdays. Why is it so obvious??

Just shows that lazy programming doesn’t work. Having the Doctor Doctor marathon didn’t work for Nine at all. 40th place for the first episode at 8pm is low.

Not surprised at all with the Takeaway Reheated numbers. Having Ambulance Australia at 8pm instead of 7.30pm have increased numbers for that show at least. That’s one tiny positive. lol.

One of the most remarkable ratings results in recent years. Nine was distant third in primary shares yet was able to force a draw with the ABC in network shares.

Obviously Takeaway is in the wrong timeslot, shouldn’t be on earlier than 6:30/7:00 but even then it’d be a big feat for people to tune in to repeats of a show that didn’t work the first time.

Putting it directly up against the biggest rating shows on 7/9 was never going to end well, 10 has shown they can be more competitive in that timeslot with extended news and it makes sense.

An extended news until 6:30 would be a big improvement and some re-packaged good news stories from The Project for a half hour special - with the view to a live show down the track.

Then start prime time, and even try Takeaway again in that timeslot from next weekend. I highly doubt we’ll see it in the same 6pm timeslot again.

Really? It and The Latest were half of the audience of ABC news…

Yeah I reckon they’re both doing better than movies in those slots. Start the movies at 7:30pm.

Aside from Network Ten programmers (Why do they keep making these boneheaded decisions?!), I think just about everyone was expecting Takeaway Reheated to not perform very well in the ratings! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

No Nine News First At Five in the top 20? Seven made it though. I haven’t seen Ten News First rank like that for a while. The Latest figures are somewhat boosting up a little. But these figures seem high because it looks like apart from main news, it seems no-one was really watching Free-To-Air TV.

Those ratings for The Lego Movie on 9Go! a good sign for tonight’s Lego Master’s premiere.

ABC in complete cruise control on Saturdays after 7pm.

Another horror show from 10.

Shocker result for Nine’s main channel, that Doctor Doctor marathon was never going to rate, desperation? But having more multi-channels than the others (including a solid result for brand new 9Rush) helped get them a tie.

Looks like From The Vault still doing nicely for 7mate?

And thank you once again @TV.Cynic for these ratings threads on a Sunday

(Ten News) It’s been ranking fairly decent for the last few weeks and i think about 3/4 weeks ago was best 450k.
It has really good early momentum but loses it all. Again because of Seven and Nines poor ratings post News also, it makes 10’s actual share better than it deserves.

@yellow_sock

It’s not lazy programming. It’s strategic. When programming a doctor doctor marathon it’s not about winning the night.

It’s about exposing your best Australian drama to a few hundred thousand more to a million people. A 6 hour marathon probably got over a million unique views.

That’s like one giant commercial for the Wednesday premiere

I doubt nine expected massive numbers or a win. It’s about giving exposure to your big drama.

Yes, seems it worked wonders!

Nine still came first in a non-ratings week.

Not sure what that has to do with YellowSock, KickIt and my comments about Doctor Doctor encore marathon on main channel all of Saturday night (which did not work as they’ve experienced before).

Nine’s main channel an easy 3rd for the night as a result and contributed to their main channel losing the week to Channel 7.

Well, I thought my comment was quite clear but if you need an explanation. Nine clearly didn’t care because about running a repeat marathon because it was a non-ratings week and they wanted to boost their drama which had been off for a few weeks. And clearly because Nine still won the night.
