Celebrity singers, actors and sports stars take on the ultimate test

Seven Australian and seven British celebrities from the worlds of music, sport and entertainment will soon learn fame counts for nothing and fear is the only currency in the new reality series SAS: AUS v ENG, coming soon to Seven and 7plus.

Leaving their creature comforts behind, Aussie stars including Olympic gold medallists Mack Horton and Emily Seebohm, cricketer Brad Hodge, stage and screen star Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Neighbours actor Ryan Moloney, musician and actor Axle Whitehead and reality TV star Jessika Power will face a series of physical and psychological tests from the real SAS selection process under the harsh sun of the Moroccan desert.

British stars competing include Love Island contestants Dani Dyer and Gabby Allen, social media personalities Cole Anderson-James and Jack Joseph, rugby player Ben Cohen, Gladiator and Olympian Toby Olubi and international cricketer Graeme Swann.

Chief Instructor Mark “Billy” Bilingham along with Directing Staff Jason “Foxy” Fox, Rudy Reyes and Chris Oliver will lead recruits through hostile and unforgiving warfare environments, pushing them beyond their limits with extreme physical endurance, sleep deprivation, interrogation and psychological testing.

Will the Aussies triumph in the world’s toughest test and pass SAS selection?

Is it just me or have they stopped promoting this show in favour of My Reno Rules?

I haven’t seen a SAS promo in weeks.

Seven has been showing the promo this week. I saw it a couple of times during Australian Idol.

Brutal beyond belief

Fourteen Australian and British celebrities from the worlds of music, sport and entertainment are about to discover what happens when fame counts for nothing. Watch them take on the infamous SAS selection course in SAS: AUS v ENG, premiering 7.30pm Wednesday, 29 April on Seven and 7plus.

Across a relentless series of episodes filmed in the blistering heat of North Africa, they put individual courage and national pride to the test, taking on a succession of punishing challenges inspired by real SAS selection.

I do think it’s good the show had a decent ‘rest’ and TBH this one looks a bit better and without Ant and his later baggage in the press that came out should also be a positive. Seven have marketed this fairly well too.

Not saying it’ll do great stuff, but they’ve gone the right way I feel in trying to take it back to the original or S1 here and give it one last crack. If it works, could be a handy TV quarter series or filler for Seven for another year or two.

Not sure we need this when there’s plenty of SAS in the nightly news at the moment.

I’ve just finished the premiere episode. Ryan Maloney is something else. I hope this is just some weird performance for the show because if not, he’s a totally different person to what I thought.
