Panthers star Brian To’o is joining PNG Chiefs on a three-year deal. He will leave the Panthers at the end of the 2027 season.

i didnt think they were able to negotiate until November 1st due to him being contracted to the panthers until the end of next year.

Are they looking to have the Chiefs win in their first year? 
They are a chance of it with the calibre of players they are getting, I’ll be interested to see the forwards that they sign and the depth players they have, the deep squads are the ones finding success it seems at the moment. I can’t imagine too many fringy’s going up there to sit in Q cup so they’ll most likely be current Hunters players of Kumuls that have gone to England and are ready to come home.

Definitely not a fan of that idea. Reeks of money making.

After a preliminary final loss, the players would find it so hard to gain any motivation to play what would be a meaningless match.
There would also be the risk of suffering a long-term injury that could put a player out for most (if not all) of the next season as well.
