Warriors dominated tonight’s top of the table clash against Panthers in Auckland, winning 28-12. The home side scored the first 22 points before Panthers made their first try with 12 minutes left in the match.
Was heart in mouth stuff during the last 15 but a very dominant performance, they announced themselves as serious contenders tonight.
In tonight’s other match, the Roosters came from 18-8 down to beat the Bulldogs 20-18 and join the Panthers at the top of the ladder (with the mountain men still holding top spot with a superior points differential).
Next Thursday night’s match at CommBank Stadium shapes as a potential Grand Final preview, though I think it’ll more likely be the Panthers vs Warriors in the big one.
I think a lot depends on who finishes in the Top 2.
If the Warriors can leapfrog the Roosters into 2nd, they’ll get 2 home finals in Auckland and will be awfully hard to beat over there.
They’re a good chance of doing that as the Roosters are away to Penrith next Thursday and I can’t see the Licorice Allsorts losing two games in a row. Chooks weren’t very impressive beating the Dogs but a wins a win.

I’ve seen Penrith fans buckling under pressure on Social Media. Calling any loss a ‘rigged’ game. Basically turned into the Bulldogs fanbase lol. Cocky when on a win streak & moody when they lose.
I didn’t watch the game, so I do NOT know what happened to Manly, but they were leading Melbourne 14-0, only for them to leak 42 answered points and go down 42-20 in Perth.
Mathematically Manly can still make the finals, but they’d need to win their last 4 games (including away to Newcastle and Warriors, and they have the Dolphins at home as well) and hope other results go their way. Next to no chance in my books.
Another big comeback win in the 5.30pm game too.
