Ratings: Unmasking tops Monday ratings

The final reveal of this season’s The Masked Singer was Monday’s top rated program with a 5-city audience of 1.2 million.

That helped 10 to its best Monday share in two months and saw the main channel narrowly take out the number one position. With the addition of multichannels, Nine ranked first in network shares while Seven slipped to third.

Nine won the east coast with Seven ahead in Adelaide and Perth. 10 ranked second in all markets except Perth.

In the the 25-54 audience, 10 had 32.4% ahead of Nine (28.4%), Seven (20.8%), ABC (12.0%) and SBS (6.5%).

In the 16-39 age group 10 had 36.5% with Nine on 26.6%, Seven 20.2%, ABC 10.6% and SBS 6.1%.

The Masked Singer had one million viewers across the performance part of the program to win the 7.30 timeslot. The results compare to 1.05m and 1.37m for last year’s final. Later, Have You Been Paying Attention? was even with the previous week while the debut of Drunk History Australia saw 276,000 tune in to the premiere episode of the season.

Over on Nine, The Block was unaffected by the increased competition and Celebrity IOU that followed continued to draw an audience with 358,000 tuning in.

That put it ahead of Seven’s 7.30 offering Plate of Origin that lost even more viewers to slip out of the top 20 to a season low 342,000. 9-1-1: Lone Star then had 247,000 and 230,000 across two episodes.

SBS’s coverage of the US Tennis Open attracted 48,000 viewers.

Changes to 10 News First had little impact on ratings with the 5-city the same as the previous Monday.

Over on Studio 10, 54,000 watched the main part of the program that saw a new look line-up with 41,000 for Studio 10 Extra. Today Extra had a very rare win in the timeslot with 133,000 (89,000) over The Morning Show’s 122,000 (83,000).
