Ratings: Seven wins second Tuesday in a row; new Nine line-up on par with last week

Nine’s change to last week’s program line-up – switching Wednesday and Tuesday – didn’t have much effect on last night’s network shares. Seven won all markets doing particularly well in Adelaide and Perth, though Nine remained competitive without a reality tent pole.

In the key 25-54 demo, Seven had 28.9%, 10 averaged 26.1%, Nine 24.0% with ABC on 12.7% and SBS 8.3%.

In 16-39, it was Seven (30.3%) ahead of 10 (26.4%), Nine (19.4%), ABC (13.1%) and SBS (7.3%).

MasterChef again came out on top of the entertainment offerings, with Big Brother second with both shows rating lower than the previous Tuesday. Paramedics on Nine did better at 7.30 than Kath and Kim the previous week.

Of the post 8.30 shows, How To Stay Married was the best with 425,000, up slightly week-on-week. ABC’s Australia’s Ocean Odyssey ranked second to just make the top 20 with 375,000. Nine’s RBT with 350,000 was ahead of Criminal Minds on 281,000. How To Stay Married ranked 12th in 25-54 and 10th in 16-39.

Ratings for most news and current affairs shows were down with A Current Affair posting its lowest Tuesday audience of this survey so far. ABC News was on top at 7pm while Home and Away posted a rare second place with its third highest audience of 2020. The Project ranked first in the timeslot in the younger demographic groups.
