Ratings: Seachange reboot debuts to 787,000; Nine wins Tuesday.

The Nine Network was number one on Tuesday thanks to timeslot wins for The Block and the reboot of the classic Australian drama Seachange .

Seachange debuted to mixed reactions on social media but with 787,000 watching in the 5 metro markets it is the highest rating drama so far this year. It helped Nine secure a network share of 30.2% as The Block also did well to average 876,000. Both also made the top five programs in key demographic groups. Earlier, Nine News ranked second in its timeslot with 935,000 and 941,000 as A Current Affair was number one at 7pm with 726,000. Later, a Kath & Kim special had 324,000 while in the afternoon Hot Seat managed 508,000 and 295,000.

Second was Seven with 26.1% as Seven News (1029,000 and 985,000) got the network off to a good start easily winning the 6pm news battle. Following, Home and Away at 7pm had 660,000, Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly then managed 558,000 and Andrew Denton Interview 414,000. Later True Stories had 262,000 and The Latest 167,000 while in the afternoon The Chase had 591,000 and 354,000.

Meanwhile on 10 , Australian Survivor lifted again to its highest audience since launch pulling 723,000 viewers helping 10 to a 19.7% share. Also on 10, The Project had 530,000 and 323,000, 10 News First 412,000, NCIS 242,000 and 174,000 plus Celebrity Name Game 238,000.

ABC’s 15.7% share was its best for a Tuesday since May and came on the back of ABC News that made the top 10 with 691,000 plus 7:30 (548,000), Foreign Correspondent (424,000) and Waltzing With The Dragon on 327,000. Earlier, The Drum had 171,000.

London: 2000 Years Of History (280,000), Insight (176,000) and SBS World News (154,000) helps SBS to a network share of 8.3%.

In the key 25-54 year old demo group Nine had 31.0%, 10 25.8%, Seven 24.3%, ABC 11.5% and SBS 7.4%. The order was the same in 16-39 with shares of 30.0%, 28.8%, 21.9%, 12.9% and 6.5%.

Afternoon News: Seven 222,000 and 197,000; Nine 164,000

Breakfast: Sunrise 261,000; Today 203,000; ABC Breakfast 110,000 and 39,000

The Morning Show 116,000 and 69,000; Today Extra 93,000 and 55,000; Studio 10 61,000 and 54,000.

Seven Morning News 77,000; Nine Morning News 67,000.
