The debut of _The Family Law_, **SBS’s** new 6-part dramedy about a dysfunctional Chinese-Australian suburban family missed the top 20 programs on Thursday night managing a 5-city audience of 366,000 according to preliminary OzTAM data. The biographical series set on the Sunshine Coast did, however, help the network to one of its best audience shares of the year with 8.8%. But most eyes post 7.30 last night were on **Ten** with another good Big Bash result propelling the network to number one place with 28.3%. **ABC** also improved it share with 18.8% but **Nine** slipped to 23.6% and **Seven** with 20.6% had its lowest network share since the State of Origin last year. Session two of The Big Bash League’s Game 29 had 910,000 metro viewers including those watching on **ONE** in Perth. Earlier, session one had 868,000 and the post match program 385,000. Also on Ten, _The Project_ had 545,000 and 453,000, _Ten Eyewitness News_ 509,000 and _Family Feud_ 473,000. _Nine News_ (945,000 and 915,000) and _A Current Affair_ (736,000) were Nine’s only top twenty entries. _Great Getaways_ (450,000) _Hot Seat_ (434,000) and _World’s Most Expensive Food_ (354,000) were next best for the network with _The Truth About Looking Younger_ later on 239,000. For Seven, _Seven News_ (975,000 and 867,000) made the top ten with _Make You Laugh Out Loud_ next best on 586,000. _Air Rescue_ managed 481,000 with _The Big Bang Theory_ on 480,000 and 450,000. _The Goldbergs_ that followed slipped to 265,000 and 204,000. In the afternoon, _The Chase_ had 544,000 and 366,000. ABC grabbed three top ten entries with _ABC News_ (785,000), _New Tricks_ (634,000) and _7.30_ (629,000) with _QI_ next best on 532,000. Later, _Death or Liberty_ had 265,000. Apart from _The Family Law, Food Safari Fire_ (240,000) and _Poh and Co_ (225,000) were next best for the broadcaster. At breakfast, _Sunrise_ was again on top with 296,000 ahead of _Today_ on 283,000.
