Ratings: Ninjas and Bachelors improve as Farmers drop

Monday night TV ratings saw both Nine’s Ninja Warrior and 10’s Bachelor In Paradise record higher audiences than the previous week while Seven’s reality offering Farmer Wants A Wife was down slightly to a season low.

Overall, both Nine and ABC picked up nearly two percentage points each from the previous Monday. That saw Seven and SBS lose share while 10 was steady.

Nine won along the east coast with Seven ahead in Adelaide and Perth. 7Mate in Adelaide had 14.0% and ranked as the 4th channel overall.

Nine won 25-54 with 29.8% ahead of 10 (25.2%), Seven (24.3%), ABC (15.1%) and SBS (5.6%).

The 16-39 age bracket had 10 as the winner with 31.5%. Nine had 26.4%, Seven 23.4%, ABC 13.0% and SBS 4.9%.

Despite rating lower than previously, Have You Been Paying Attention? was still in front at 9pm with 9-1-1 Lone Star ranking 21st with 407,000 while Nine’s Ian Chappell special A Glorious Life was 25th with 326,000. Later, Seven’s Madeleine McCann special saw 229,000 tune in.

There were big news numbers in Melbourne with viewers seeking info on the latest Stage 4 developments. The Nine News Melbourne 6pm figure of 496,000 is the highest for any Australian bulletin this year and Nine’s highest since June 2015. Earlier, Nine’s afternoon news also benefited from developments in Melbourne averaging 308,000 of which 136,000 were watching in Melbourne. That put it ahead of Seven with 298,000 at 4.30 and 273,000 at 4pm. ABC News also had big numbers in the afternoon averaging 283,000.
