Kate Ritchie as Molly in the 1986 Cyclone Tracy miniseries. She was 7 but it was the usual production/child labour laws technique of a very short older kid playing much younger (they had to use a plate to cover up her missing tooth because of that).

Yesterday (January 10) marked 25 years since The Sopranos debuted on HBO in the US. It is still regarded as one of the best dramas in the modern era.

To celebrate the milestone, several deleted scenes are being released on Max.

Is this Penny Cook she was on A Country Practice as well. I was a baby when E-street was on but I’ve heard a lot about it apparently it was like a grittier version of Home and Away and Neighbours so why did it end in 1993 they should bring it back?

it is Josephine Mitchell, who also was previously on _A Country Practice_. I am not sure who the child actor is.

_E Street_ started out as a slightly more grittier version of _Neighbours/Richmond Hill_ but it was subjected to a major rework when ratings didn’t really fire, which saw it become a bit more contemporary, I guess. A more youthful/hip version of _Neighbours_ IIRC and started incorporating actual pop/rock music tracks as background.

Probably because they came up with really outlandish stories that resulted in a drop in ratings.

First there was good guy Steven “Richo” Richardson who became scary Mr Bad at night. Then there was Constable Max who would turn into a Werewolf. 🤪

Didn’t they resort to a fire to try and get better ratings too?

it was lucky it didn’t get axed, as it wasn’t doing that well, but for some reason Mr Shanks or Ten management saw the potential for a revamp and actually gave the producers a chance to rework it rather than axe it and have to start again with a new show.

IIRC but I may be corrected, Ten reduced the show’s output to one episode a week to give the producers some breathing space to re-work the show and change some of the elements of it. One of which was to revamp the theme tune to give it a more upbeat feel.

I would say the Neighbours situation from a few years earlier may have also helped by reworking the format.

The ATV-10 ACP was a disaster. At least little Miss Armstrong was allowed trousers in “Round the Twist” – as whoever was in charge of these things at ATV insisted otherwise for the ACP version of AfterMASH – despite the usual VIC weather. I’m not surprised Laura’s school friends laughed their heads off (as she reported much later). Didn’t help the poor child generally that Chrissy Seaver was fresh in viewer’s minds in 1994.
