Foxtel hasnāt generated a press release for almost a month - which would probably mean that the only ongoing Pay TV related news is scheduling related and considering the time of the year maybe there just isnāt any of that either?

I just learned that all Australian TV and AM/FM radio callsigns actually officially begin with VL (like how American callsigns begin with either K or W and Canadian ones begin with C).
Itās just that the VL is dropped because we donāt have cross-border reception like is common in North America, so itās effectively useless in most broadcast situations.
So, for example:
3AW = VL3AW
2MMM = VL2MMM
WIN (TV) is VLWIN

The VL prefix was mainly heard on SW and out of band stations e.g., 2UV would id as VL2UV and the domestic shortwave stations had names like VLQ9, VLM4 , VLW, VL8A, VL8T. Some overseas territories also used to have the prefix show up in lists like VL2NI was the listed call sign for Norfolk Island stations.
Thereās been a change on the TV Tonight website today.
- Streaming has now moved up the page to sit beside Programming
- Pay TV has dropped to the bottom of the page above a new Upfronts section

As it should. Apart from a few shows on the ABC and some news and current affairs on the commercial channels, most of what I watch is streamed. Canāt say Iāve seen my nieces and nephew watch free to air TV ever.

And it seems like heās on the outer with Foxtel anyway which possibly has had something to do with it
Maybe they cut off his free premium subscription. 
And Foxtel is on the outer with the public.
I strongly doubt that Foxtel will exist as a cable service in 10 years.
Theyāll need to morph into a streaming service or die.
Theyāre on their way to doing that with Foxtel Now.
Would be better if they offered 4k programming though. Sky UK is shitting all over them in that department with the Sky Q.
It wouldnāt exist as anything if it wasnāt for all the live sport they have.

How exactly does Foxtel Cable continue as a service when an area is converted to NBN?
From what I understand, Foxtel used to basically clone Skyās set top boxes and software for every STB up to the IQ2. Foxtel could have chosen to do the same with the Sky Q, but they must have decided that the release date - early 2016 - was too far away (plus the time required to customise the software for Foxtel). So they went ahead and developed the IQ3 on their own. Thatās why the IQ3 was such an abortion.
The previous set top boxes had large amounts of money poured into their development by Sky to provide optimal performance, hence why the Sky Q is so much more responsive and capable than the IQ3.

Speaking of which, on an episode of Keeping Australia Safe a couple of weeks ago there was a segment on scamming. One scam which jumped out at me in particular was a man from WA who gave $50k (IIRC) to some sort of effort by the āDonald Trump FBIā to imprison Hillary Clinton. I hope I donāt have to explain to you why this is fake.

normally I would be like āyeah us WA folk arenāt all stupidā, but seeing posts by some members from WA here, I canāt really defend us.
I actually also really dislike people who try and protest or aide politics out of their area. like seriously fuck up with ābut her emailsā, lock her up or āimpeach literally HITLERā
