It could only happen in Ballarat… probably at Sorevign Hill too.

I got tired last year looking at the honors list and seeing famous name after famous name, whereas people like my mother in law who devoted themselves to public service got overlooked. I moaned online about it and was asked why didn’t i nominate her, so i did.

I’m proud to say that my mother in law received an OAM in the kings birthday honors list

I’ve recently been a victim of scammers, some money was stolen from my bank account, with extra money I’d withdraw from my superannuation account to pay for car rego and insurance.
Lucky someone from my bank when I spoke to someone from their call centre could hear how upset I was that this has happened to me, I started crying and said I’ll get very angry if that money isn’t returned to me.I’m not working anymore and not likely to in the future, etc. This is very stressful for me,I need that money back.
I wish I hadn’t answered that phone call from someone saying they’re from my bank and my account has been compromised.
All good my money was returned to my bank account, I managed to convince them how upset I was and they believed me :+1:
I also called my super fund and explained what happened, and they’ve made my account more secure. No money is missing from there, thank goodness

Sorry to hear that. Probably worth looking in to getting your phone set up so you have what is basically spam call protection. It would scan the phone call number as it rings.

I won’t answer calls from phone numbers I don’t recognise from now on

So what information did you give these people on the phone in order for them to scam you?

Scammers tend to go for personal details such as bank accounts etc.

Surely you know not to give those details over the phone?

Ah, I see. Okay, if it ever happens again hang up and you call your bank back. Then you know.

I didn’t somehow they got hold of my account details.I reported this to my bank straightaway

Then why’d the scammers call you if you didn’t give them any details?

Sorry, I’m a little unclear how this happened?

I don’t know myself where they got my information

Yeah so I don’t get why they called you then? To tell you you’ve been scammed? I don’t understand the purpose of that?

This is the first time this has happened to me,these scammers are getting more smarter.
