I had a Job Capacity assessment from Centrelink today as I applied again for the DSP in August.,after being knocked back last year. As my current part time cleaning job with Queensland Health will finish early December I’m hoping I’ll be approved by then. I know the next step is a Sonic Health call and I’ll be truthful,outlining why I’m very limited in what jobs I’m able to do and what my worst day is like .Panic attacks if under severe stress and anxiety,I’ve already mentioned this today.The report I submitted from my psychiatrist also states my limitations and that I’m unable to work more that 15 hours a week and can’t cope with too much stress. ---

Monday November 2nd I have Sonic Health video phone call with a clinical psychologist as my DSP claim is for mental health issues that I’ve had all my life.They have now read the report from my psychiatrist who I think wrote the report correctly the way they can understand it ,Maybe that’s why my claim has been fast tracked to this stage. ---

It’s such a relief to think that I might soon be approved for a payment I should have been on years ago.Looking back now the main reason for my every retirement 4 years ago was a severe mental breakdown.All those years of ‘masking’ .its a fact that neurodivergent individuals like myself eventually suffer from burnout because of this.😕 I also realised that having a radio next to me while working probably kept me sane for many years..This kept me grounded mentally with something to focus on.
