An example of one of two Auckland micropowered FM stations that have not programmed their RDS software properly. This example below from West Coast Radio. All micropowered from Auckland with RDS noted thus far have Dynamic RDS. 
One has to ask - why?
88.3 ABCFM Mt Ulandra has added RDS!
PS= ABC Clas
PI=235A
PTY= Serious Classical
Also has RT.
None of the other Mt Ulandra outlets have RDS.

Well done! I know there’s been a lot of discussion about this in the past, but for the implementation of the new updated RDS standards & RDS2 in next gen vehicles to have any chance of being added to vehicle tuners, people are going to have to write to or send emails the car manufacturers public affairs office/er & put in a request for the manufacturers future or next model vehicle’s off the production line or next firmware updates to include new firmware or hardware as applicable for LPS & RDS2. Vehicle Manufacturers would be completely ignorant of the implementation of LPS or RDS2 by some radio stations here in Australia & of course we are only a small market.
Also when it comes to using the restrictive 8 characters in the RDS PS (station name), radio stations can always opt to use or change their radio station name to one that is 8 characters or less & thus avoid the risk of the horrid Dynamic PS or not have to worry about the lack of hardware/firmware for LPS. Earlier setting of & implementation & adoption of LPS & RDS2 standards should have occurred long ago, it’s like the ship has already left port. But there’s always a glimmer of hope I guess.

Myself and the other tech might investigate RT+ in the future when the new playout system is up and running
Was trying for a week or so to get LPS working, just couldn’t get Group 15 to transmit, was speaking with @Parex11 who suggested try updating the firmware despite the RDS encoder already been on the latest firmware, and what do you know it made it start working

Well done guys. Yeah after a while as a tech you learn the quirks of particular hardware with experience & to never make assumptions & if a corrective action doesn’t work once, that should have worked, to try again etc etc.
Somebody was clearly updating the RDS settings at the ABC on Mt Coot-tha at the end of last week. Some minor changes:
106.1
PS now “ABC Clas” (was “Classic”)
PTY now “Serious Classical” (was “Other Music”)
107.7
PTY now “Pop Music” (was “National Music”)
PI codes etc appear to be unchanged

Not a fan of ABC Clas as PS, much prefer Classic any day.

Me too, but in markets where you’ve got (or hopefully will soon have) ABC RN, ABCLocal, ABC News as well, maybe using ABC Clas groups it nicely with the other ABC offerings.

Would definitely make sense if they went with ABC JJJ too, but I’ve never seen that for a PS anywhere.
