Obviously this was a soft launch as the opener was clearly for the special bushfire broadcast.

Overall on some of the full screens I saw I like and the supers and tweets finally got an update

Theme has had a bit of a slight remix too. Love the new set. I like how it’s more casual of the panelists sitting in chairs around more of a “coffee table” style

Overall it’s a great relaunch IMO.

This show is 100x better without Jones and the old EP

I’m assuming Sydney will also have a similar set?

Or is QNA now permanently coming out of Melbourne?

Has anyone noticed how the backdrop on this set is very much like the old Ten Late News title card backdrop from when Mr Handsome Hamish hosted? :smirk:

Graphics look a lot more cohesive than the red overload they used before. Also glad that the atrociously large desk they used before is gone, replaced by the new chairs which is a simpler yet sophisticated design.

Also nice to see the show becoming more interactive with Hamish communicating directly with audience members.

There is a problem with the graphics however. Not sure if can be seen from the caps. Bu the presenter’s name graphics are blurred as compared to the Twitter ones at least on the large screen,

Is this the same studio used for the Weekly? The back panels and layout look kinda similar IMO.

  • Stan Grant, Writer and journalist, who spent ten years reporting from China

  • Raina MacIntyre, Global Biosecurity head, Kirby Institute. Raina MacIntyre is Professor of Global Biosecurity at UNSW and a guest professor at the Shanghai JiaoTong University School of Medicine.

  • Jason Yat-sen Li, Investor and President of Chinese Australian Forum and a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on China.

  • Vicky Xu, Journalist and researcher at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute.

A timely forum given all the controversy about Chinese influence in Australia, and Chinese Government’s crackdown on even the most objective reporting and analysis of China-related issues. The producers did a great job inviting a senior official from the Chinese Embassy to appear.
