Pure Gold Network

As a shareholder, ARN should be asked at AGMs year after year why they are not bothering to program and invest in sales staff to make Cruise as profitable as we know it can?

Trying to direct audience back to Mix is futile and Cruise can top up the Adelaide revenue that Mix isn’t providing.

can we tell them to take Walking on Sunshine out?

It does fit the “spring” theme well though.

Makes the playlist better ironically. Much more variety.

No announcer for 10hrs between 8pm and 6am?

I thought that was pretty much standard by now.

BTW they didn’t have anyone fill in for Jonesy and Amanda while they gone. I had no idea that they were not live until I heard their return show being promoted. They were still playing talk breaks and gets my goolies. Nothing said it was best of or highlights.

WSFM/Pure Gold Network trying to pull the wool over the listeners eyes (or in this case ears) by pretending a show is live again?

The Pure Gold network run Best of breakfast from midnight and through the night.

I switched to 4BH or Hot Tomato Gold.

97.3 FM in Brisbane did the same thing last week , ran highlights of breakfast without specifically calling it out as best bits. I guess is something ARN have decided to do now across both the KIIS and Pure Gold networks.

Ugly Phil filled in for JAM last week.

I don’t like WSFM’s new thing of playing ads over the start and end of some songs.

Hey… um… settle down dude. Ugly Phil “Ugly Philled-In” on WSFM Breakfast during this last survey break, and every other survey break over the past 3 years. He plays some “best bits” of J&A alongside his own live content. So… no wool pulled over eyes… or ears. Sheesh.

Most of it was J&A, I barely heard Phil if I heard him at all. The imagery was still J&A show (no mention of it being highlights or best ofs) as though they were live. Still played the “that’s enough you two” and the goodbye song at the end. There was no mention that they were on a break at all until the last week when a return show was mentioned.

Considering that the show sounds pretty much identical now that they are back, I’d say WSFM/Pure Gold Network still needs to be more transparent on whether a not a show you are hearing is live or not.

I still don’t get why breakfast radio shows need to be repeated in the afternoons/evenings other than to save on paying for a presenter in that time slot and I don’t get why when they are on break that they still get bits played even when where is supposedly a fill in presenter. Do they talk a lot about generic things that you could play it all year long and no one would find out it out of place?

Imagine if the ABC dumped PM in favour of a highlights package of Breakfast.

don’t be surprised if SCA, Nova Entertainment, Ace Radio etc. do the same soon. Wall to wall ads.

What’s meant to be between 1-6pm? No announcers?

Bill normally does Sundays where they usually wind up the announcers at 1pm. Although their web site isn’t showing anything out of the ordinary (unsurprisingly, because why would they do that), I wouldn’t be surprised if that ends up the same tomorrow.

Those missing slots would be the lunchtime Totally 80s hour (where they don’t list an announcer anyway) and Steve Fitton’s afternoon slot on a normal day - not sure if that post did indeed mean to be “no announcers” in those slots.
