What element of the level crossings prevents VLocity trains from running to Swan Hill?

Cab safety. In a V/Locity, the drivers cabin is the crumple zone. The basic rule is that any unprotected LX crossing means a V/locity is limited to 50 km/h. That rule doesn’t apply to the big locos.

To allow them to run at 100 km/h (the current line speed), every single LX crossing has to have booms and lights. Many crossings don’t even have a powerline in the vicinity…

I’ve heard that a decent long-term upgrade to the line (i.e. 130 km/h running) is close to $1 billion. (CFMEU and associated bikie gangs take a big chunk of that of course).

I’m very happy to continue with the N set until they find a suitable replacement. Might be a little slower but a lot more confortable. Read all the complaints from the other lines that recently down graded to the V/Locity

The Department of Transport and Main Roads unveiled a series of 10 maps for the $1 billion Beerburrum to Nambour Rail (B2N) Upgrade, Stage 1, which is expected to provide more reliable, frequent and efficient train services between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

The project will realign the existing rail line between Beerburrum and Glass House Mountains, remove three level crossings, expand park ‘n’ ride facilities at Beerburrum, Nambour and Landsborough, and deliver a range of new or upgraded rail and road infrastructure to improve safety.

Thank god stopped up my card last week in preparation :). Although I had gotten so hard to not touching on and off I forgot to do it at one point but touched on when I realized .

for the first few days of free travel i kept touching on/off out of habit. Now I am well out of that habit and i have to take the train tomorrow. Have set a reminder on my phone for tomorrow morning to remind me to touch on!

Dear Transport for NSW and Premier Deadshit

1 - please stop putting trackwork on public holiday long weekends. You want people to go out and enjoy themselves, and leave the car at home. You’re going the wrong way about it.

2 - please employ bus drivers who do not think they are driving a Supercar, or a F1 or a NASCAR and can pilot a bus smoothly, not herky jerky.

3 - remove all vinyl from the seats, this goes hand in hand with request 2. At the moment, i feel like I am going to fly off my seat.

Thanks,
Me.

When else do you expect them to do trackwork? Long weekends give them a decent window to carry out works.

Perfect time to do roadworks too.

In comparison to the next few weekends (and for most of the year) - there is little trackwork this weekend

No matter what Time road, rail ,electrical, network upgrades happen it’s a bad time but no maintenance is no solution.

I get the frustration, as a night road marker I’ve put road marking down only to have the road ripped up a week later , I asked about communication and planning but was told it’s too difficult. Now that’s roads, imagine the whole system of public transport working together

It should be that way but it’s not.

Someone tell Queensland Rail and Translink about this. We have track closures every weekend and they’ve started doing weekday closures as well now
