Pirate Radio

These posters are popping up all over Melbourne’s northern suburbs

Has anyone actually picked this up on 99.9 FM though? I still haven’t

Not the kind of music i would be interested in.

Wonder if it was Thomas Sewell the nazi white supremacist guy?

Huh? The station is run by him?

No I don’t know that but abc reported that he got sprung running pirate radio from a Melbourne mansion funded by supporters, pretty nasty content apparently.

No can’t have been, sounds more like he was using social media.

According to the push notifications i just got, it was on Instagram.

There’s a station operating on 91.1 in Sydney. I’ve caught its open carrier before, but caught it playing dance music today before going silent again. Here’s a recording:

It comes in strongest on my north-facing antennas.

Edit: I found this licence, so I presume it’s radio for Vivid given the licensee and the dates:

Broadcasting at 10W ERP, 10m antenna height and vertical polarisation.

It’s probably some joker at 2sm doing "homework " with a mic open somewhere, foreign order style.

I think it might be the soundtrack to the light show on Darling Harbour that they’re using a LPFM to carry the music for. That music sounds awfully familiar as I did see that light show.

91.1 is a better frequency to use for these CBD events. They’ve used 89.3 in the past which must get slammed by 2GLF.
