Oh no, not that song again!

“Bohemian Rhapsody.”

There should be a moratorium on this song for 30 years.

Absolutely, and replace it with ‘Innuendo’ which hardly ever gets played.

Aw C’mon, I really don’t mind that one to be honest as it’s still one of my favourite classics all thanks to its appearance on “Wayne’s World.”

Another one of my underrated classics from Queen alongside “The Show Must Go On” which was recorded roughly a year before Freddie Mercury’s passing, that song doesn’t get any radio rotation at all.

Agree! In fact it’s a song I feel I never need to hear again TBH.

Queen just has so many other amazing songs that never, ever get played on radio anymore.

I also like the posthumous ‘Heaven For Everyone’ which got a bit of airplay in 1995-96. It was a bigger hit in the UK than here.

Boh-Rap will never get rested as much like that other contraction (Spag-Bol), it’s a staple of our culture, even though there are better songs and pasta dishes.

I think though from a ‘technical’ perspective it would be difficult to find a ‘better’ song than Bo-Rap for the way it infuses opera and rock so well combined with Freddie’s amazing vocals and appeals to so many different audiences for it.. even my 80+ year old Aunt loves it and that’s say something.

Heaven For Everyone is a great song. And yes much bigger in the UK.

Another older one that was a big hit in the UK that I love is It’s A Hard Life.

Yes all valid points, it’s still good (in very small doses)…only need to hear it once a year if that, though.

I would argue ‘Innuendo’ ticks most of those boxes as well, a very complex popular song and doesn’t get anywhere near the recognition of Boh-Rap.

I am biased however, as ‘Innuendo’ was the first Queen song I knew growing up (had the ‘45…yes it fit on a ‘45!)

Your 80-something aunt would have only been 30-something when it was released, so that makes sense!

I’d like to put Go West - “The King of Wishful Thinking” on this thread.

Pretty Woman is still one of my favourite movies since it does contain one of my favourite Europop songs (Roxette - It Must Have Been Love which was originally released in 1987 in Sweden as a XMAS song but was re-recorded in 1990 for the aforementioned film) but my god “KOWT” gets overplayed on radio (I’m looking at you Triple M Regional) way too much.

Agree, it does get played too often even though it’s a good song and I still like it.

“We Close Our Eyes”, “Call Me” and “Don’t Look Down” are equally good catchy Go West tunes that would fit the format well that rarely get played.

I definitely agree,I got sick of this song years ago

I’m old enough to remember this song being the Number 1 song on ‘Countdown’ for weeks in 1976 ,50 years ago, I Am old:blush:before being knocked out of Number 1 by ‘Fernando’ by ABBA

Sorry to call for a BUMP…but there’s two songs I’m tired of hearing on this thread.

Since the Triple M regionals have revamped their playlist last month, I’m dreadfully sick of hearing “Lovin’ Each Day” by Ronan Keating as the artist is absolutely out of place on a Triple M branded station.

Another song that I heard earlier this week is “Walking in Memphis” by Marc Cohn at my local Coles in Kurri Kurri. This song has been overplayed a lot on the MMM Regionals and Adult Contemporary stations for over three decades, if I hear “Put on my Blue Suede Shoes” one more time, I will go batty!

There I said it.

This one is a sentimental favourite for me since it’s an early song I remember off watching Rage, and since I don’t listen to commercial radio I still enjoy hearing it.

I don’t mind that song TBH. I enjoy listening to it on Hope 103.2 and smoothfm (and C91.3FM on the very odd occasion).

MMM Regional plays Rod Stewart “Rhythm of my He(f)art” on a daily basis now. Just yuck.

“Walking in Kurri Kurri” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, does it?!
