NRL coverage

I think you are right, I liked Gav (I’d listen to the catchup on a Monday from time to time) but Mike also calls games as well so they aren’t having to pay 2 seperate people for one role now.

Triple M broadcasted the Warriors vs Panthers game live from Mt Smart tonight.

Yeah which is a rarity. Because it’s my understanding most game calls are from the studio.

Haven’t listened since his departure

They did once last year as well but I believe it’s a junket for advertisers when they go to Auckland.

Yes the vast majority of games are done from the studio unless they are at Accor, Allianz or Commbank. And for the QLD team at Suncorp.

I wonder too if the Newcastle crew go to Away games or if they are done at Honeysuckle

At Honeysuckle now days I believe.

SEN I suspect were at the ground cause I saw Jimmy Smith at Mac Jones today.

Been announed this morning that Origin 2 will take place on 16 June at Eden Park in Auckland. I will be interested to see how they deal with the time difference

Campbelltown but yes.

A bit of a gripe lately for mine has been sound mixing when broadcasting games and getting the atmosphere to come through the tv/radio. Fox is pretty poor at it and 9 is for awful especially when in studio. But Triple M has done a really good job of it and you can definitely feel the atmosphere in their calls.
