Nova Network

Kate, Tim & Marty now start at 3pm in Adelaide, was starting at 3:30pm with a local half hour which was mainly repeats of old material, now from 3pm, Afternoon announcer has been cut back to 1-3.

Nova 91.9 afternoon is being networked from Melbourne again with Jamie Row, Cale Porter has been made redundant again, had the same thing happen to him a year or so ago when Greg took over.

How are they doing that with the eastern states still starting at 4pm?

It’s just Tim and it’s pre-recorded.

That seems strange.

Prob a reaction to Carrie & Tommy starting at 3pm? Seeing if they can pick up steam a little earlier and trialling it in SA.

Weird since Melbourne are still taking DC from Sydney 1-4pm. He’s still listed on LinkedIn as Operations Manager for smoothfm Sydney - wonder if this is just a trial?

They lost nearly two points in Adelaide, whilst Mix increased (though nowhere near as much). Wonder if going properly live in Adelaide, whilst still keeping the half hour of ‘localised’ content to make it sound like and ‘adelaide’ show is part of a strategy to bolster their share back. Simultaneous benefit of making the networking out of Melbourne easier on the announcer.

Kate, Tim and Marty still runs from 4-6pm with the Adelaide only portion from 3-4pm. Tim makes a point about it by saying Nova 91.9 often but there’s no live banter, thus it’s just Tim playing best bits of KTM.

Not good enough. Cost cutting. Sounds cheap on air.

Better to have a local announcer live as the early drive begins.

The horrible native adverts on Radio App have returned this morning, torturing us with a repetitive 30 second ad every time the connection drops out and returns. It’s been a while since this last happened. Why is it happening again?

Contact the station and let them know.

What’s with the screen’s?

Interesting tie up there with Ch10.

Does it say presented by ten, or powered by ten?

Introduced them when the sponsorship began, mostly due to the online videos I’d imagine. Plus other networks have video walls, Nova don’t.

What happened last week, there was a fire in the Nova 100 building and Marty was pulled off air for the final hour? But it was all cut from the podcast.

I did and their response was it’s Radio App’s fault. I explained again it was happening on Nova App too and it’s happened a few times before.

They fixed it a few hours later.

After the disastrous drop in ratings last survey coinciding with the greatest hits workday, rather than go back to playing more fresh hits they’ve gone the other way.

This week, they’ve started playing even more greatest hits. Now every second song is an old hit on Fitzy and Wippa at Breakfast and Kate, Tim and Marty in Drive. And those old hits are on high rotation like the fresh hits were. Watch the ratings slide continue.

Doesn’t Nova mean “new”?

At least 2DayFM have completely dropped the word “hit” from their branding & imaging.
