According to the clock on the control computer, the chat was filmed on a Tuesday in February this year.

Why does it require a new studio?
The Breakfast team and the Drive team swapped studios and offices in Sydney when they swapped shifts.

I am wondering if Nova are building him a home studio? Would make it easier for him to do his Perth breakfast and new lunch time show commitments while also doing standup at night if he was able to broadcast from his house…
Maybe they needed more studio space in Melbourne. They often have concurrent shows broadcasting at the same time and they need space to be able to prerecord stuff too and host other presenters when they’revisiting.
Joel is broadcasting in Perth at the same time as Melbourne Breakfast and Mel Tracina doing Mornings. Plus Chrissie Swan starts her show right after Joel so they probably want to be foing those from different studios.
They probably need a studio that doesn’t have windows then, so you can’t tell he’s not in Perth?
