Nova Network

Nova 919 gets some throwback songs throughout the day on Thursday.

That is correct there are Throwbacks at 9am and throughout the work day on Nova 96.9

The old Throwback Thursday that was axed from Nova 96.9, that is still on Nova 106.9 is Throwbacks only between 9am-3pm Thursday, and then their regular playlist from 3pm onwards. I hope that clears that up.

Mumbrella reports Nova has axed a small number of newsroom jobs as part of a restructure. As the result, separate news bulletins on Kate, Tim & Marty will be replaced with a single Sydney-produced bulletin, effective from next week, but Perth will have its own bulletin while local sports coverage will be produced for Melbourne and Adelaide listeners.

Honestly, daytime rating have more to do with the station than the announcer.

Lots of stations have those when they have engaging announcers that are willing to put them to air. Greg would most likely be able to do that if he wanted to, but he’ll just do whatever he normally does - ie. the same stock standard shit that Sydney and Melbourne get.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they did. SCA got both Sarah Maree Cameron (now Fox floater and weekends) and Jaben Ryan (2Day afternoons) who were axed from Nova 100.3 at the start of the year. Unlike Nova, SCA don’t mind having excess announcers to be floaters.

All presented from Sydney.

Nova Entertainment should change their name to Sydney Entertainment.

“Your listening to Brisbane’s Nova - with London’s Greg Burns playing Fresh Hits in Sydney”

Nova 1069 started broadcasting in Brisbane in 2006. Little did Brisbane listeners know that it was eventually going to be a Sydney station.

We should still appreciate what we have with the Nova Network. I think that by 2025 Nova will be a relay of Capital FM in London. London DJs. London News. London voiceovers. London promos. London music. But with a 15 second weather update every hour for the Australian stations to make it seem local.

Yikes. That’s all I can say about it. Nova Brisbane sound so boring when they’re networked I never find it worth listening to.

On the other hand, their “Friday Feels” songs are bang on.

What are they exactly?

I love the expression “bang on”.

Actually it’s a great slogan for a radio Station.

Nova. Bang On.

Summary of all the changes here.

Is that where the announcers have a fight to determine who keeps their job.

Classy.

Last time I heard Melbourne news presented from Sydney, they mispronounced a number of suburb names.
No quicker way to make you sound you’re not local IMO.

Many think it’s rooted.

Who does/did the Sydney shift after the Pommy bloke? Before Katie takes over.
