Nine wins Thursday with Home and Away, I'm a Celebrity plus news the best

The Nine Network won its first overnight ratings for the week as just two non-news programs made the top ten shows on Thursday.

Seven’s Home and Away with 757,00 and Ten’s I’m A Celebrity (719,000) made the top ten with the rest of the entries news or public affairs programs.

Nine’s improved its share this week at the expense of Seven that saw its audience shrink due to the poor performance by its 8.30 pm movie Safe House that finished in 24th place for the night. Nine’s share lifted to 29.2%, Seven slipped to 24.6% while Ten (20.1%), ABC (18.5%) and SBS (7.7%) were steady.

Nine News (948,000 and 932,000), A Current Affair (848,000) and Inside Story (644,000) made the top ten for Nine with RBT (605,000) and Kings Cross ER (548,000) also performing well while Hot Seat had 479,000 in the afternoon. Later, Hour to Save Your Life had 409,000 and Embarrassing Bodies averaged 177,000.

Seven News (900,000 and 864,000) was second in its time slot while the afternoon’s The Chase had 528,000 and 352,000. The Big Bang Theory made the top twenty with 500,000 with Safe House averaging 352,000.

Ten did well with younger audiences with I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here delivering good demographic numbers again. Earlier, The Project had 510,000 and 424,000, Family Feud 505,000 and Ten Eyewitness News 486,000. Later, Law and Order: SVU was steady with 436,000 and 255,000.

For ABC, ABC News (800,000) and 7.30 (681,000) made the top ten with Jack Irish losing ground this week to 617,000, down 61,000 from last Thursday. Hatch, Match and Dispatch, however, lifted to 527,000 while No Offence had 303,000.

The Diet Myth (311,000) and Food Safari Fire 9297,000) did well for SBS.

Today (341,000) was on top at breakfast ahead of Sunrise on 334,000 and ABC News Breakfast (103,000 and 46,000). Following, The Morning Show (157,000) was ahead of Today Extra (124,000) and Studio 10 (69,000).
