Ten (West Digital Television)

Cannibalised WIN’s share since it started.

Looks as though TEN West’s voiceover is quite similar to the Nine West from Jul 2016. But whose name was it?

According to RegionalTAM ratings for the week of 11-17 June, Nine WA’s main channel is ranked 5th in Regional WA, tied with its multichannel, 9Go! :open_mouth:

Where do GWN7 and WIN come?

In main channel shares, 1st & 3rd respectively. However, in network shares, WIN is 4th behind Nine.

The detail in the Prime Media financial results show that in 2015/2016 West Digital Television made a loss of $836,000, while in 2016/2017 it made a profit of $460,000. Mildura Digital Television had a similar turnaround in fortune going from a loss of $1,290,000 to a loss of $258,000

The combined results of the two joint ventures went from a loss of $2,126,000 to a profit of $202,000. The switch to Nine has been an outrageous success.

Prime will be glad that WIN switched the GVs from Ten to Nine.

Meanwhile, WIN’s switch to Ten…

So less of a reason to hold off on returning 9LIFE to the non SCA markets then, including WDT…

According to RegionalTAM ratings for the week of 13-19 August, WDT is 2nd in network shares, in a market in which the ABC has traditionally been #2 in both main channel & network shares.

Someone not paying attention at MediaHub. Imparja coverup on Nine West yesterday.

Nine West (and no doubt Mildura and Griffith) using an ancient sponsor billboard for the Cricket. I don’t think I’ve seen one of these without a WWOS logo under the billboard.

So, during the cricket tea breaks, do they use the same sponsor billboard presentation as the ones from the opening of the program?

A bit curious, but why the West Digital Television (Channel 9) had the HD in promos when the primary channel is in standard quality?

Probably because all of Nine’s program promos are using the “Nine HD” logo!

…and there’s approximately -20% chance of them modifying them just to remove the HD part

The 9HD promos are coming from the Nine feed, not inserted by WDT

It’s interesting to see that Nine West seem to have a separate ad feed for the South West these days, considering that there’s plenty of local ads from around the Bunbury region, and none from other parts of Regional WA such as Albany, Geraldton, Port Hedland, Broome & Kalgoorlie.

An indication of an increase in demand for advertising due to increased ratings? (Despite claims by some on Mediaspy that the JV Nine channels only air ads purchased as deals with the mother channels even though they outrate WIN).

It’s like that across all the commercial channels (with exception to GWN7 which uses separate feeds). It’s where the money is!
