That’s a poor job by 9Now because there are singles matches happening simultaneously. 7tennis app handled it a bit better last year.
I logged on earlier and could see the other matches not shown on main channel.
Yep Lepatron is correct and Jason absolutely wrong, was also watching another match on 9Now early tonight (the Maron Cilic and Bautista Agut 5 set epic)…
Not just that but there were/are enough non-RLA singles matches being played yesterday and today to warrant 9Gem’s coverage to continue
AUSTRALIAN OPEN BROADCAST SCHEDULE - Monday 21 January
MEN’S & WOMEN’S NO. 1 PLAYERS IN ACTION TONIGHT
Tonight on Nine, World No. 1 Simona Halep meets Serena Williams .
Should Williams win this year’s AO, she will equal Margaret Court’s all-time record of 24 Grand Slam singles titles.
Later in the evening, the pre-tournament favourite and top-seed Novak Djokovic will take on the sixteenth seed Daniil Medvedev .
Djokovic is on the hunt for a record-extending seventh Australian Open title, whereas the young Russian will be competing in the fourth round in Melbourne for the first time. Their two previous matches have both been won by Djokovic.
In the day session, World No. 4 Alexander Zverev goes head-to-head against former No.3 Milos Raonic in their fourth-round clash.
Zverev has collected 10 ATP titles, but is yet to win a Grand Slam tournament. The 21-year-old will attempt so move one step closer to achieving that dream
Having only played each other twice before, the two men are tied at one win apiece, with Zverev winning on clay in Rome; Raonic victorious in five sets on grass at Wimbledon. This will be their first encounter together on a hard court.
Another 21-year-old, Naomi Osaka , has already experienced Grand Slam glory when last year she became the first Japanese woman to lift a major trophy at the US Open.
Osaka will attempt to reach her first Australian Open quarterfinal when she meets Latvian Anastasija Sevastova , who has progressed to the round of 16 in Melbourne for the first time.

Last year you had to pay $19.95 to view all matches IRRC
Ridiculous that 9:aren’t showing both of the 4th round women’s singles matches that are currently on.
Great ratings for 9 yesterday afternoon
A whole lot of waffle on Nine for 15 minutes and counting since the first match finished. The whole time there’s been Osaka playing her 4th round match on RLA.
Nine just accidently played a couple of seconds of Better Now by Post Malone at quite a high volume during the Zverev v Raonic match. Perhaps it was a song to be played out to the ad break, but it was quite odd.
Ratings will be huge for Ash’s prime time game tomorrow night.
The sound tech guy was tried and fell asleep on the button, is what I have been told.
Don’t think that’s right - all of the streams were offered for free but you had to purchase a subscription to watch in HD and avoid seeing pre-roll ads
Nine’s pretty good at offering the HD in free though. That’s something Seven should’ve done when they still had tennis.
Exactly and you can make 9Gem matches HD as well and chromecast
I heard that as well. One of the commentators even made a reference to the song title after it happened.
Kei Nishikori’s record breaking 5 set win all but ignored by Nine…
Yeah I saw the flood of comments online, however what are Nine meant to do, to be fair?
It’s week 2 and they’ve committed to sticking with one channel, as Seven also used to do. They can’t just suddenly break out of that at 8pm or 9pm because it’s turned into a thriller.
Everyone by know knows there’s an app, that’s where they watch it. Whether they or we like it or not. No win situation. Happened before and will happen again.
