PGA suspended due to approaching thunderstorm

Could be for a while - Royal QLD is close to Brisbane Airport. Now showing Round 2 highlights.

AccuWeather currently says the rain will end 1:30pm.

Then 34 minutes of dryness before play suspended for the day.

If I’m Nine, I would be off to my alternate schedule right now.

Caption - play to recommence 1:15 pm Brisbane time - strange that it isn’t shown in AEDT time.

Play underway

Not really. It is pretty common for sporting broadcasts to refer to the local time in cases like this.

It’s interesting that Australia vs The World swimming will not be shown live against the gate in Brisbane. Is it a programming decision or to encourage locals to buy a ticket and go to the event instead?

Probably because it’s more a showcase event, Nine don’t feel the need to show it live. Easier to present as Friday night viewing across the network rather than on 9Gem in some markets including 4.30pm in Perth.

Is Anthony Hudson the guy that Commentates AFL on Fox Footy and has been on Channel 10 and Ch Rex Hunt 7 well now he is on 9 Wide World Of Sports.

Yes he is. Like he was last week for the Aus PGA

Is the Coverage on Nine of these events similar to the Coverage of Test Cricket on Seven where the Fox feed is used but own commentary and graphics?

If that is the case, Huddo should become Nine’s next Chief AFL Reporter as well as Monday presenter of Footy Classified and feature on the Australian Open Tennis Tournament and Melbourne Cup Carnival coverages along with still being at Fox.

He’s a play by play commentator not a reporter. So I don’t think he can become the Chief afl news reporter since he’s not technically a journalist. That’s like saying 7 should have BT has their main chief afl reporter
