Nine Radio (Talk)

All Nine stations have done this (and I’d assume also those who take Nine’s News).

They’re promoting it as a Finance credit rather than Sports.

I’m talking about the sports credit in the hourly news bulletin that comes before the sports news. Not sure what the "Finance credit " is or what that article is referring to.

I think thesub1 is talking about Nine Audio: Finance which was revealed at last week’s upfronts and officially launched yesterday.

Jacqui Felgate again demonstrating how incapable she is covering breaking news and presenting on radio…

Um this, um that, incredibly hard to follow and then on the immediate conclusion to a press conference where police said they believe it was a tragic accident she says “there’s no worse crime”…

Honestly, 3AW is and should be way better than this.

A women was arrested. Wreckless driving or not, it’s still a crime. A little boy was killled. Jacqui was almost in tears at some points during today’s program.

It’s disappointing that you are going after her today after the tragic news she had to cover.

What I did find interesting is that Service Today which advertise on most stations in Sydney won’t be advertising on 2GB anymore as they got caught putting flyers in people’s letter boxes that were misleading saying that a neighbour recommended them however that neighbour doesn’t exist. They used the same name of neighbour in multiple locations. This was reported during Ray Hadley’s program and he got the ad removed from his show and 2GB more broadly and extended to 4BC as well after reports today they were still playing the ads.
It’s good to see that given the current market that they would still do this. Many company’s exhibit similar behaviour and it is pretty obvious to most people it’s an ad and that the neighbour doesn’t actually exist.

The issue is that she gets too emotionally involved in the stories she is covering. I don’t want her to be a robot, but it’s the same tone for anything that’s a crime.

If I also had a dollar for every time she says “it’s been a really busy show today” “it’s really heavy but we need to talk about it”

The show isn’t anywhere near as busy and broad as it used to be, it’s about half the pace and content it used to be. (Although better than when she started)

I find Sofie Formica’s program to be similar.

From Radioinfo:

Nine Entertainment has brought experienced radio COO and consultant Rick Lenarcic over to Perth and 6PR to assist the station with operational and staffing changes up until the end of the survey year.

Nine’s 2GB radio host Ben Fordham has pulled out of a Liberal party fundraiser in Kirribilli, saying he did not realise the event was raising money for the political party when he accepted the invitation to speak.

Eddie Summerfield hosted Wide World of Sports on 3AW, live from Flemington last night. I think it’s the first time this year Eddie hosted the show.

I quite like Eddie Summerfield. 12 months ago I thought he was just a newsreader but he’s popping up on lots of 3AW shows now as a segment co-host and also was AFL boundary rider this year.

Just heard on his program that Ray Hadley is pulling the plug at the end of this year.

Big news. It really is the end of an era at 2GB. I wonder who will replace him?

I wonder if this has anything to do with Laws retiring.

That’s very random.

I would suggest it’s Mark Levy’s if he wants it?

Possibly, though perhaps Mark and Nine are happy with him being the fill-in given his other roles hosting sports coverage, and also running a restaurant which would take up a lot of his time.

If not Mark then perhaps Luke Grant.

According to SMH he had signed a contract extension that should have kept him on air for another 2 years.

His departure comes as a surprise. In May last year, Hadley signed a two-and-a-half year contract extension that would have kept him on Nine Radio until the end of 2026. Last July, he marked 20 years as number one in the coveted mornings slot.

A cynic would suggest announcing his retirement a day before Laws’ final show was done to divert some attention. No secret that there is no love lost between the master and his former understudy.
