Nine and Lauren Tomasi are taking the LAPD to court over the incident where she was shot by a rubber bullet while reporting on protests.
Now, after spending the past year gathering all her ammunition, it’s Tomasi’s turn to go in all guns blazing after launching a scathing legal assault against the cop who mercilessly shot her.
The only problem? She doesn’t actually know whodunnit … and the LAPD is refusing to tell her.
Her claim, which is being led by lawyers from the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, notes Tomasi had been covering the fiery protests against the “surge of immigration enforcement operations in the city by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)” for two days without incident before things turned ugly.
It has also been noted that she continues to suffer from physical and mental injuries as a result of the incident

Her reporting on the World Cup (and other things like the space shuttle launches etc) from over there is still very enthusiastic! You wouldn’t know about the scars from being shot otherwise.

she’s a fantastic U.S. Correspondent for Nine News alongside with Reid Butler and Lily Greer. They’re also great correspondents. Regardless what stories they go for.

Her reporting on the Winter Olympics was fantastic too. For me her best was the space shuttle launch where she was extremely enthusiastic and really made the story come alive. Must be hard criss crossing the country chasing stories but the energy she brings is first class.

Let’s just make sure not to comment that could impact a matter that is before the courts.
Just because an individual doesn’t show external signs of psychological trauma, doesn’t mean that it is not present.

She was on NBN News last week, so perhaps just “borrowed” at short notice rather than sending someone up from Sydney?
Edit: Just saw her on the Sydney 4pm news reporting from Bella Vista in Sydney, so maybe she has?

The degradation of talent within the nine Sydney newsroom is noteworthy.
