It’s hard to change the narrative now; people are always looking for negative stories. A post like this on the weekend would have been welcome.

I’m wondering if Nine have any plans for a Sydney double.
Sydney are now the only Nine News weekday station without a double except for Perth. Could they possibly be thinking of installing Georgie with Peter and giving, the recently axed from 2GB, Deborah Knight the weekends back?

Peter Hitchener will be on 3AW with Denis Walter after the 10pm news for his weekly segment. Will be interesting to hear what he has to say about his new role in 2024.

Listening to his chat with Denis Walter on 3AW right now and he’s stepping back to weekend presenting to have more free time. On his to do list is to dust of his golf clubs and go golfing.

Maybe it wasn’t entirely his decision (which seems obvious) but maybe he did want to take a cut of some sorts, and this is all they could offer. At the end of the day, we may never find out.

I agree with this. It would’ve been a bit of both.
Wouldn’t surprise me if he only wanted to read Monday-Wednesday (etc) but Nine wanted some more consistency in their weeknight presenter lineup, hence what we will end up with.
