Georgie Gardner is back presenting Sydney 6pm News tonight.
Saturday (08.04.17) - Sunday (09.04.17): Darren Curtis is anchoring solo in Queensland this weekend. Wally Lewis is presenting sport on Saturday.
Madeline Slattery presented weather in Melbourne tonight.
Laura Turner has returned to Nine’s LA Bureau.
I thought Ian Ross did weekends and was 2nd in line after Hendo, with Jim focusing on Nightline and Sunday?
Jim did Nightline, Sunday & 6pm news on Sunday night. Roscoe did Today and 6pm news on Saturday night.
Jim was the main fill-in for Hendo with Hugh Riminton his back up on Nightline.
Ultimately Jim was Hendo’s 2IC with Roscoe a very close third.
In later years Roscoe actually gave up Saturday nights and Kim Watkins replaced him. Waley continued to do Sunday nights.
Thanks for that post, it certainly clears a few things up!
So both men worked six days a week?
Yes. Although Hugh Riminton was a regular substitute for Jim on Nightline so possibly he did at least one night per week on average.
Roscoe definitely worked 6 day weeks for a long time.
Brett McLeod is presenting in Melbourne tonight expect Alicia is in Sydney for Today.
At least NNN was only fronted with these guys back in those days (even with the rather unusual schedule of Hendo on Mon-Fri, Roscoe on Saturday and Waley on Sunday. Would probably be the equivalent of Peter Overton on Sun-Thurs, Georgie Gardner on Friday and Deborah Knight on Saturday or something like that). Seven had almost ten different presenters back in the 1980s and 90s.
Monday (10.04.17) - Thursday (13.04.17): Tim Davies is presenting the Early News.
Mark Burrows is presenting Monday Morning & Afternoon News.
Tony Jones presenting the Melbourne bulletin this evening.
Melissa Downes is finally back in the studio tonight in QLD.
Would appreciate a montage from one of our dedicated posters. I am also looking forward to tonight’s ratings.
Justine Conway presenting weather in Melbourne, Livinia most likely on holidays this week.
Pete and Livivia appear to be off for the week Clint said his back tomorrow. Tony probably off next week.
Nine would be desperately hoping Hitchener can read the news until he’s 90 judging on tonight’s performance.
Going by his attitude, he’d probably be happy to stick around to then.
Any reasons?
