Kyrrie is the Darwin correspondent in the story.
Looks like it’s coming out of Brisbane… Gold Coast (and Newcastle) sets don’t look like that.
Gold Coast uses the exact same backdrop with a Gold Coast view on the left hand side. It’s the same screen that Gold Coast uses.
EDIT: Scratch that last message. It’s from Newcastle.
Ah I see.
Bulletins or updates during the day?
It’s good to see Nine News Darwin back even in just thew news update form. Kyrrie is one good yoyo, always finds a way back to Nine News.
Surely it’s not a bulletin at 2:30pm
First at 2.30… try and beat that Seven! ![]()
I believe they are noodle news updates, not the full bulletin. They still get the Queensland based 6 pm news bulletin from Brisbane.
No. Only noodle news updates
2:30 = 2 mins 30 secs
100% screams Newcastle.
But it does scream more of a news bulletin than it does of an update, given the intro at the start saying “This is Nine News Darwin.”
Given how it does scream more of a news bulletin rather than an update, I’d honestly call these Mini-Bulletins, given the way it’s presented, sweepers and all, makes it feel very much like what you’d expect in the now-defunct 1-hour composite Darwin bulletin.
Honestly though, not a bad effort from the team at Honeysuckle. Really good in fact.
I would say this is an early launch for Darwin due to the cyclone coming. They were meant to start the new updates next week.
They have done no promotion for it so people seem confused in the comments.
She was, until recently, working as a NT Govt media advisor.
are they really going to promote updates though?
it’s an image on a screen, not a real set.
Being read from Newcastle.
Gold Coast uses the same still image of the metro set as their backdrop (even though they have a real set)
Wide shot to help visualise
Has there been another bulletin for Darwin considering what’s happening?
Yes, they posted one to Facebook about an hour ago.
Stop trying to push something that’s not there. It’s a 2 minute news update not a bulletin. FFS.
Reporting nationally on cyclone today.
