They absolutely have the means. They’ve been scheduling Darwin news live on the AEST-based 9Gem for years. They’d push back or bring forward whatever programs were interrupted, sometimes moving hours of programs into the night. I think they stopped it when COVID affected all the Nine News Local productions and they haven’t brought it back since.
Doing the same thing on the main Imparja channel should probably be avoided as it would clash with Brisbane news and key primetime programming. But I would expect them to at least schedule updates or special editions when critical events are happening in their home state. Even bring the full bulletin back to 9Gem.

Pretty much done in all smaller communities, one satellite dish downlinked into a set top box which is then split out across a whole community.
Used to happen in PNG too with Seven Central.

Paul Murphy is now the News Director of Nine News Darwin.
This is due to some staff departing in Darwin and Kate Limon going on maternity leave until mid-2022.
Zarisha Bradley has also left for Nine Perth.

She is actually pregnant and I’ve heard won’t return after leaving to have her baby.
