Surely they have a backup still image if it’s heavy rain?
Nothing wrong with showing the actual weather, being that heavy is a point to note.
We always get annoyed when static backdrops don’t get adjusted for DST etc

Walked past the 9 News Adelaide studio this evening. Fascinating seeing how small the studio actually is. A very casual Will McDonald in the new weekend team picture.

Yes, the blue and white halo lights are on at night. During the news they close the curtains especially when the sun shines in.

This live shot was seen during tonight’s Sydney bulletin. Is this from ODS? I think it looks good and would work well as the backdrop during 4pm news etc.

There was a brief voiceover report from Peter Overton on the death of Dennis Cometti on the Sydney news this evening, just before the first weather preview.
It included a tribute from retired NRL commentator Ray Warren.
