Well I guess it is big news in a cost of living crisis, and that most people would have been thinking (up until recently at least) a rate cut.
I get really confused on the need for Effie. You have Chris and Charles. I don’t understand her role at the network. It’s almost like having a deputy always on duty to Chris?
I don’t even think they should be interrupting regular programs for these announcements. Just announce it in the next newsbreak and then analyse it in one of your news bulletins that follow. There’s no need to rush to do it.
is she more consumer focused? mum and dad sorta thing.
One of big business and finance, one is at home money and cost of living.
Gold Coast News managed to lead with the Olympics with the Mayor participating in the torch relay - slow news day?
Depends - did the report include any criticism as to why the mayor of the Gold Coast is there at the cost of ratepayers? Or was it glowing?
Looks like the outrage. Definately worthy of the lead as a lot of residents are angry about the City Council’s unnecessary international travel paid for by ratepayers.
The story was positive about “a city first” at this year’s Winter Olympics. “making sure out city is front a centre on the world stage”.
There was a comment “in the past the Mayor has copped criticism for using ratepayer funds to travel overseas”. But no dissenting voices about this trip. The was positive comments from Acting Mayor.
Seems pretty tone deaf
It is Margie McLew.
The experienced journalist, whose career started in Adelaide 25 years ago, will replace Jeremy Pudney, who announced his departure from the network last month, from Monday, March 16.
McLew’s media career started 25 years ago as a Year 12 student, compiling forecasts and writing weather segments after school.
She landed her first reporting job at Network 10 before joining Nine’s Adelaide newsroom, working on the production desk as a story producer alongside Pudney.
After relocating to Sydney, McLew worked as a senior producer before being appointed Deputy News Director.
Melbourne experienced a technical issue tonight - logo appeared at first but went straight to ads for two minutes. Returned to air with no audio for the first top story in the opener, then went into the intro v/o with Peter.
So everything back to normal
Suitable super text given the situation lol
